Katharine McPhee: weather girl - VIDEO
by Adam Finley, posted Aug 8th 2007 7:02PM
Have you ever wondered what it would be like if American Idol's Katharine McPhee decided to give up her dreams of stardom and just settle into weather reporting?
Of course you haven't, but that's what happened at a St. Louis news station when McPhee, before her interview, decided to jump into the middle of the weather report to give the weatherman a hard time for being a Taylor Hicks fan, and to try her hand at reporting the weather. It turns out it's not that easy: you have to know where to point, and you have to ad lib.

Fox considers moving Idol to Thursdays
by Brett Love, posted Sep 19th 2006 1:04PM
In a move that is surprising to some, and sure to cause sleepless nights for execs at the other networks, Fox is considering moving American Idol to Thursday nights. You may recall the scrambling that took place prior to this season as the networks tried to figure out what to do with Thursday night. At one point it looked like we were going to have C.S.I, Grey's Anatomy, and Studio 60 all fighting for viewers at 9PM. NBC eventually backed down and moved Studio 60 out of the fray, but what would happen if Fox was to drop Idol in that spot? It's unclear whether Fox is eying that 9PM slot for the show, or if they would stay with the traditional 8PM airing. However, Fox president Peter Liguori does hint at the possibility of the 9PM showdown in the LA Times article. The decision could be held off until as late as Christmas. And, there is always the chance that this is just grandstanding by Fox, hoping to cause some turmoil with the other networks while getting more publicity for their number one show.
McPhee to sing at TomKat's wedding?
by Adam Finley, posted Jun 1st 2006 5:31PM
Well, we heard about Steven Spielberg contacting her, and now apparently Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes have also taken a shine to American Idol loser Katherine McPhee. Scuttlebutt in the gossip rags has it that McPhee met Holmes at the Church of Scientology in Los Angeles, and the two hit it off, swapping tips on how to smile and look cute, or whatever the hell they talked about. Anyway, the (in)famous Hollywood couple known as TomKat have apparently asked McPhee to perform at their wedding. The song she'll be singing is "Garblax, Tyranical One-Eyed Ruler of the Gleeferslock Galaxy." Or possibly, "You Light Up My Life." It's often hard to tell with this kind of ceremonies.
