TV Squad Daily with Brigitte - VIDEO

by Brigitte Dale, posted Jun 14th 2007 6:19PM
Hey, Brigitte here with TV Squad Daily. I'll be covering the TV stories I find interesting each day, Monday through Friday, in this video blog.

Today on TV Squad Daily:
  • Where are the made-for TV movie people? Kelly Frank's brief taste of freedom would make a good comedy.
  • The creators of Lost are thankful for that black-screen Sopranos finale.
  • Maybe Victoria Beckham isn't so mysterious after all. The reality show that was supposed to let us get to know the "real her" just was shortened from six episodes to one.

Letterman kidnap plotter escapes prison

by Richard Keller, posted Jun 11th 2007 9:31AM

Kelly Frank is on the looseKelly Frank, a former house painter who was accused of plotting the kidnapping of David Letterman's son and nanny, is now a free man, and not because he was paroled from the 10-year sentence that he's been serving at the Montana State Prison. It turns out that he and one other prisoner escaped last Friday while on a work detail.

According to prison officials Frank, and convicted burglar William Willcutt, were working on moving an irrigation pipe at the ranch prison when the escape occurred. As the afternoon rolled along a supervisor noticed that Willcutt and a truck were missing. The prison was locked down and a head count was initialized. It was then that it was discovered that Franks was missing as well. The truck was later found off prison property in Western Montana and a search for the escaped inmates took place in that area on Saturday.

In 2005 Frank was arrested on allegations that he plotted to kidnap the late-night talk show host's son. He was also charged with lying to investigators and overcharging Letterman for a paint job he performed at his ranch. The charge of solicitation to kidnap was dropped in exchange for a guilty plea for three other charges.
