Ke$ha Books Nickelodeon Guest Role, 'Idol' Castoffs Head to Leno and More TV News

by Chris Harnick, posted Apr 1st 2011 12:00PM
Ke$haKe$ha is heading to ... Nickelodeon? The not-quite-family-friendly 'Tik Tok' singer will guest star and perform on episode of 'Victorious.'

In the episode, Victoria and her friends try to win a private Ke$ha concert by piecing together the singer's name from items found at the bottom of ice cream containers.

"It's a private concert, and yeah, I will say that the costumes are awesome and there's definitely lots of glitter," Victoria Justice told Entertainment Weekly.

"It was really fun to film," she said. "It's the first time on my show that we've had a successful radio artist perform on the show. Ke$ha's kind of edgier, and I think that it's cool to bring that element to the show."

Howie Mandel Dresses in Drag for Last Quarter-Finals of 'America's Got Talent' (VIDEO)

by Oliver Miller, posted Aug 4th 2010 3:00AM
The Last Quarter-Finals of 'America's Got Talent'It was the last round of the quarter-finals on 'America's Got Talent' (Tue., 9PM ET on NBC). This was the final chance for acts to make a good impression on the judges. And so, what happened?

[Spoiler alert.]

Well, we got a lot of good stuff. A violinist performing a Ke$ha song. A defensive comedian. The judges wearing fake wigs. A woman suddenly turning into a tiger. Something or other involving a dance around a fake barn. And so on and so forth ...

Anyway, it was a lot to take in. What was your favorite kind of insane act from tonight's show?

Ke$ha Rocks 'Trashbag Shoes' on 'The City' (VIDEO)

by Gabrielle Dunn, posted Jun 23rd 2010 1:40PM
KeshaThe girls of MTV's 'The City' (Tue., 10:30PM on MTV) are usually so pristene that viewers could never see them suggesting an artist wear clothing made from trashbags for a photo shoot.

But that's exactly what happened when trash-pop sensation Ke$ha showed up to Elle magazine.

Accessories editor Olivia pairs Ke$sha's leopard leotard and studded leather jacket with "trashbag shoes" or heels with trashbags on them.

Ke$ha, of course, loves the idea.

"I wanted to make a dress for the Grammys out of garbage bags but no one would let me," the singer laments.

Olivia's face in response says it all.

Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus, Ke$ha, Katy Perry and Everyone Else at the 'MuchMusic Awards' (VIDEO)

Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus, Ke$ha, Katy Perry, and Everyone Else at the 'MuchMusic Awards'Have you heard of the 'MuchMusic Awards'? If it takes a second for the name to kick in, that's because they're the Canadian music awards. So, they're like a version of the MTV Awards, except more Canada-y.

Apparently every trendy person ever was at the 'MuchMusic Awards' (Sun., 9PM ET on Fuse). Guests included Miley Cyrus, Ke$ha, Katy Perry, Justin Bieber, Adam Lambert -- and just about anyone else that you could think of.

Katy and Miley seemed to have a bit of a competition to see who could wear a more revealing outfit. Also in attendance were Snooki and 'The Situation' from 'Jersey Shore': which was unnecessary, but then, the two of them turn up everywhere, so -- you know -- whatever.

Basically, everyone was at the show.

'Saturday Night Live' - 'Ryan Phillippe/Ke$Ha' Recap

All in all, a pretty mediocre episode. Ryan Phillippe didn't seem to stretch himself in any way. Well, okay, okay, he dressed up as a chick for a sketch, but apart from that, there was no palpable attempt to celebrate the fact that Ryan Phillippe was hosting or play to his strengths. I mean, I won't pretend I know what those particular strengths are, but 'Saturday Night Live' usually does a fair job of letting hosts try something dramatically out of their comfort zone or play up something unexpected. There was no sense of that in this episode.

Maybe they wanted to keep the episode toned down to counter whatever amount of crazy Ke$Ha wanted to unleash. By the way, that girl looks like she perpetually smells like drugstore watermelon body spray and BO. If that's the look she's going for, she's really nailing it.

'American Idol' - 'One of 12 Voted Off' Recap

by Kona Gallagher, posted Mar 17th 2010 11:52PM
american idol top 12I don't know why, but I was thinking up until this show started that we were still losing one guy and one girl; but the days of the competition being split evenly are over. We're only losing one tonight, so one of the genders is going to be completely safe. It's hard for me to guess who's going home, though, as last night's episode was one of those nights in which I questioned what show I was watching as compared to the judges.

They, apparently, were watching some sort of star-studded tribute to The Rolling Stones, while I was watching a hot mess. The contestants seemed way over-praised, in general, while the one who wouldn't have made Mick Jagger question all of his career choices, Crystal Bowersox, was unduly criticized. It was crazy-town last night, so I'm really interested to see who America ultimately thinks should go.
