Kid Rock Outed as 'Nerd Rock,' Sheryl Crow's On-Tour Antics on 'Daily Show' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Jul 13th 2011 3:19AM
Kid Rock, 'The Daily Show with Jon Stewart'Kid Rock's hard-rock reputation took quite the beating on 'The Daily Show' (Weeknights, 11PM ET on Comedy Central). So, in order to make up for it, he threw his tour-mate Sheryl Crow under the bus a little bit.

Jon Stewart started the trouble by declaring Rock "a professional."

"Man, don't blow my street cred," Rock laughed. They talked about how easy it was to coordinate Rock's involvement in Stewart's recent rally, but then Stewart dug that knife a little deeper.

"He would call me and be like, 'Uh, you're gonna need to put this on a DX format with a 550,'" Stewart said. "You're not Kid Rock, you're Nerd Rock."

Kid Rock Isn't on iTunes Because He Relates to Steve Jobs' Independent Spirit (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Jul 12th 2011 5:34AM
Kid Rock, 'Late Night with Jimmy Fallon'Here's some reasoning you might not expect. As he explained on 'Late Night' (Weeknights, 12:37AM ET on NBC), Kid Rock's music isn't available on iTunes because he relates to Steve Jobs' attitude and the way he built Apple.

He respects the company and even has bought stock in it, but he won't make his music available in the iTunes store because "I just don't like being told what to do."

It's a sentiment he believes Steve Jobs applies to the way he's developed and built Apple. "I believe in the company," he said. "Steve Jobs runs it the way he wants. 'This is my company. I started it. I built it big. I run it the way I want. I do things who I want. If you don't like it, screw you.'"

TV Squad Daily with Brigitte - VIDEO

by Brigitte Dale, posted Oct 30th 2007 6:41PM
Hey, Brigitte here with TV Squad Daily. I'll be covering the TV stories I find interesting each day, Monday through Friday, in this video blog.

Today on TV Squad Daily:
  • Don't worry, says NBC. Jay Leno will be out, Conan will be in, in 2009.
  • The pending writer's strike could mean a surge in demand for reality tv. That is the only reason I can think of why they might be giving Coolio his own reality show.
  • Kid Rock won't be charged for that "brawl" he was in at the VMA's.
  • Ellen DeGeneres will be the first celebrity "briefcase babe" on Deal or No Deal.
  • Court TV will change its name January 1st.
