Chelsea Handler suggested that Gary Oldman's kids might be more impressed with his video game work than with his filmography on 'Chelsea Lately' (Weeknights, 11PM ET on E!). Probably most younger people have spent far more time with his voice as Viktor Reznov in 'The Call of Duty' games than they ever have watching his movies.

In describing the experience of recording for the games, Oldman said it was very loud. "You go into a booth and you scream your lungs out," he said. "You can only do it in five minute bursts because you have to go take a Tylenol."

Kiefer Sutherland lent his voice to 'The Simpsons' (Sun., 8PM ET on FOX) as a character reminiscent of his Jack Bauer days. Wayne is the new security guard at the nuclear power plant, but he has flashbacks to a much more dangerous past.

One flashback revealed the special CIA training he received, complete with circus strongmen, ferocious animals, Chucky and Kobe Bryant! But, despite his harrowed past and his resistance to befriending people in Springfield, Homer gets under his skin.

And then Homer needs saving when Wayne's past literally comes to town -- though we're not sure how he found it considering Wayne chose Springfield because it isn't on any maps. It was a fun episode, and a fun character for Sutherland. We loved the Korean animation re-enactment, and we're happy to see Nedna going strong!

(S08E19) "I just want the people who are responsible for this to be held accountable. All I need to do is expose them." - Jack to Chloe

Jane here, filling in for Mike. I was actually reviewing '24' at the beginning of the season, but found the storyline so preposterous that Mike graciously agreed to take it off my hands.

Somewhere between then and now, the show has gotten much better -- more interesting and less ridiculous. In fact, last week, my nephew emailed me and said the show's gotten better lately, especially with the return of Charles Logan. I wholeheartedly agree. Not that Logan's any less of a weasel, but that's what I love about him.

The clock is ticking down on '24' (Mon., 9PM ET on Fox) as the show nears the end of its final season. The pressure is intensifying. Now, everyone is after Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) -- even members of his own team.

(S08E18) Things got ugly last night on '24.' Jack Bauer threatened the lives of women and children, brutally smacked the smirk off Dana Walsh's face, and President Taylor decided to turn a blind eye to the Russian conspiracy.

Oh, Jack! Things really haven't changed that much in the eight years days we've known you on '24' (Mon., 9PM ET on Fox). People you're close to are still dying in your arms. You and Renee finally got together and wham! Sniper bullet through the window.

That's just not right, Jack. And we know you'll understand when we say you should think twice about spending too much time with your daughter and granddaughter. We like them, Jack.

(S08E17) Hour 17 began on a downbeat and ended with a major tragedy. At least Chloe was finally recognized as the CTU's best and brightest rock star. That was a sweet moment in a sluggish episode full of predictable developments and a senseless "shocking" ending.

'24' is almost over, but Jack Bauer is about to face one of his toughest challenges yet -- trying to start a romantic relationship with Annie Wersching's Renee Walker.

Jack and Renee take a well-deserved break from kicking bad guy ass to explore their romantic feelings for each other on tonight's much-anticipated episode.

I recently got a chance to talk with Wersching, who plays Renee on '24,' about tonight's big ep. We also talked about the fan reaction to her character and where Renee might be headed after the show ends. Wersching stayed mum about whether things would actually "work out" between Jack and Renee, but she promised that the show's final hours would deliver some surprising twists and turns that no one, not even Jack Bauer, could see coming.

(S08E16) The second hour of Fox's '24' double-bill kicked off with the hunt for the CTU mole. This was probably the stronger episode of the two that aired last night, considering the shocking development that ended the hour. This season still feels like its rehashing old plots and twists, but a few of tonight's scenes and images will probably be burned into the memories of fans for some time to come.

(S08E15) The sun finally came up over Jack Bauer and crew last night on '24'. And with it came the first of two exciting if ultimately empty-feeling hours of the veteran real-time drama.

I use the word empty to describe these episodes because I'm no longer very invested in the story. '24' lost me a few weeks ago, even before Dana so inelegantly stuffed Stephen Root's dead body behind a CTU wall panel. Like I typed last week, the twists feel cheap, the stakes arbitrary, and the real-time gimmick has gotten stale.

At this point I'm mostly watching for the tightly edited procedural elements, the action scenes, and Kiefer Sutherland's sturdy performance. That stuff is solid -- so solid that it almost makes up for the lack of compelling drama and the unbelievable plot developments this season.

A primetime landscape without Jack Bauer? We thought -- hoped -- the day would never come. But Fox has made it official, and, after eight seasons and a two-hour finale on May 24, '24's' Jack (Kiefer Sutherland) and his terrorist-thwarting cohorts will indeed ride off into the TV sunset.

And the only way we can think to soothe our grieving, Bauer-lovin' hearts: Recalling the real-time drama's all-time greatest moments -- 24 of them, of course -- from brutal interrogations and jaw-dropping twists to the biggest villains and heroes and the moment that sealed the fact that '24' was some kind of totally different, some kind of wonderful, TV show.

'24' (8PM, Fox)
It's hard to imagine a primetime season without Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland), but now that Fox has decided to make this the final season for the all-time greatest TV thriller, we're going to have to get used to it. Sigh. Thankfully, season 8 has only gotten better in the last few episodes, and tonight's two-hour installment promises more high drama, as President Hassan makes a shocking decision (okay, you may not be shocked, but his family will be) and POTUS Taylor finds her peace plans in serious danger. Jack, of course, is front and center in the effort to bring things to a happy resolution, but that nasty Starbuck, er, Dana Walsh, isn't going to make life easy for J.B.

(S08E14) Judging by tonight's ep, it looks like we can expect more lunacy and lazy story developments as '24' heads into its final hours. It's probably best for the show to end its run after this season. At this point, '24' is merely recycling its once startling twists and turns, and the real-time gimmick has gotten stale. We have a new locale and a few new names and faces, but the tricks are all the same, and the suspense feels manufactured, cheap and forced. Fans can see the twists coming from hours away, even when they're as unbelievable and over the top as they have been this year.

Jack Bauer is long overdue for a trip to the big screen. Hopefully, the tired real-time dramatic device that has outworn its welcome on TV won't shackle the character once he jumps to the movies. I'd much rather see Kiefer battling the baddies in a dense, smartly paced thriller than sit through another ridiculous real-time setup.

It's the final season of '24' (Mon., 9PM ET on Fox), and things are starting to get, well ... tense. On the latest episode, Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) finds himself betrayed by members of his own government.

While fighting terrorists, Jack gets a chance to unmask one of the bad guys. "Who are you?" he says. "You're making a huge mistake," is the reply. And then comes the big reveal. The terrorist is ... American.
