by Maureen Ryan, posted Jul 21st 2011 11:00PM
Sarah Michelle Gellar at Comic-ConAt Thursday's 'Ringer' panel at San Diego Comic-Con, Sarah Michelle Gellar said the surprises in the show were what drew her back to TV.

"I realized it was the first time in a really long time that I had been surprised [by something I'd read]," Gellar said of the drama-thriller, in which she plays twin sisters with double the secrets.

We caught up with the cast -- including Gellar, Nestor Carbonell (who plays a cop), Ioan Gruffud (who plays the husband of one of the sisters) and Kristoffer Polaha (a man with a romantic interest in that same sister) -- before their panel to hear more about the show.

Check out our video interviews to hear more about their characters (including Carbonnel comparing his 'Ringer' character to 'Lost''s Richard Alpert), suspending disbelief, playing things two ways, and the possibilities and plausibility of 'Ringer.'

Comic-Con 2011: Highlights From The CW's 'Ringer' Panel

by Laura Prudom, posted Jul 21st 2011 7:45PM
'Ringer' was one of the most anticipated new show panels at this year's Comic-Con. I mean, hello, it's the return of Buffy herself, Sarah Michelle Gellar, to TV! And she's playing twins!

But the three leading men also got squeals from the crowd as the sizzle reel played before the panel started. Nestor Carbonell ('Lost' fans in the house!), Kris Polaha and Ioan Gruffud are not too shabby themselves.

When the cast took the stage, along with Eric Carmello and Nicole Snyder, the show's executive producers who jumped from 'Supernatural,' and fellow EP Pam Veasay, it was Gellar -- looking gorgeous -- who the crowd went nuts for.

Before the series premieres this fall (Tues., Sept. 13, 9PM ET on the CW), check out a few teases, straight from their Comic-Con panel.

Cate Rejects Baze on 'Life Unexpected' (VIDEO)

Life Unexpected, Cate rejects BazeWell, Baze, you goofball. You can't dash to the church just in time to tell the woman you love how you feel about her, and then expect her to fall into your arms. That's not how it happens in real life, and it's not how it happened on 'Life Unexpected' (Mon, 8PM ET on The CW).

Cate had already made her choice, and it wasn't you. Nope, you got there just in time to hear the minister say, "I now pronounce you husband and wife." Better luck next time, buddy.

You were the plus one," says Cate to Baze on 'Life Unexpected' (Mon., 8PM ET on The CW). "This is all making sense now ... the sex, the therapy ... you are the guy that my sister is sleeping with?!" Guilty as charged.

Review: 'Life Unexpected' - 'Bong Intercepted'

by Hemal Jhaveri, posted Feb 9th 2010 2:15AM
Life Unexpected (S01E04) I am so excited for the return of the infamous bong lamp, but wow, does it cause some major trouble. Last week, we saw Lux sell Baze's pride and joy to help cover his bar rent. Two weeks ago, the offending lamp was also one of the reasons Baze was denied full custody of Lux. This week, it's the reason she gets suspended from her fancy-pants public school. Stupid lamp, can't do anything right.

We're ratcheting up the drama here this week. Lux's illusions of family life crumble a bit more as she and Cate, in the grand traditions of mothers and daughters everywhere, clash something awful.

Reasons why I think ABC should renew Miss Guided

by Isabelle Carreau, posted Apr 9th 2008 11:03AM
Judy Greer
TV Squadder Paul Goebel reviewed the series premiere of the ABC comedy Miss Guided. He wasn't sure what to make of the show after the first airing and I must admit that I also had my doubts about this new comedy. Judy Greer is a joy to watch as guidance counselor Becky Freeley but the comedy was predictable and the cast way too beautiful to portray a real high school. However, I decided to stick with it and ended up enjoying the show's storylines and characters as well as the interview-like tidbits.

The series aired its season finale last week and is now awaiting ABC's upfronts to know if it'll come back next season or have to close the books. To help ABC make its decision, here are some reasons why Miss Guided should be renewed.

ABC gives Miss/Guided a go

by Allison Waldman, posted Feb 28th 2008 9:21AM
Miss GuidedIn the flush of all the returning series with fresh episodes comes this tasty morsel of news. ABC will premiere Miss/Guided, a new sitcom starring Judy Greer (Love Monkey) on March 18.

Miss Guided
is the story of Becky Freeley, who returns to the same high school she went to as a teenager as a guidance counselor, sorta, kinda like Welcome Back, Kotter. But Becky wasn't a sweat hog in her high school days -- she was an ugly duckling with braces and teenage anxieties. Now, as an adult, she hopes to be able to handle HS with more elan. Becky's hopes hit a speed bump when she meets the sexy mechanic-turned Spanish teacher, Tim (Kristoffer Polaha), whom she likes...a lot. Then, she learns that the new English teacher is Lisa Germain (Brooke Burns), her former nemesis back in school. And wouldn't you know it, Lisa likes Tim, too!
