Wendy Williams Doesn't Mind if Bristol Palin's Reality Show Bar Fight Was Fake (VIDEO)

by Alex Moaba, posted Sep 26th 2011 7:00PM

A video of Bristol Palin getting into an argument in a bar, taken while she was filming her upcoming BIO reality show, went viral on the Web over the weekend. Some have questioned whether the trainwreck TV moment was authentic, or just a set-up to get people buzzing about the show.

In the clip, Bristol rides a mechanical bull, and then gets heckled by some of the bar's patrons, who clearly aren't fans of her mom's politics. With her show's cameras rolling, Bristol confronts one of the hecklers, and they get into a heated argument about why the man thought Sarah Palin was "going to hell." Bristol responds by telling him he probably hates her because he's gay.

On the 'DWTS' Scene: Jennifer Grey and Derek Hough Celebrate Their Victory

by Michael Maloney, posted Nov 24th 2010 10:00AM

Nobody -- not even the legion of fans who were keeping Bristol Palin in the competition -- puts Baby in the corner!

Jennifer Grey, who became America's sweetheart back in 1987 as teenager Baby in the film 'Dirty Dancing,' was crowned the season 11 champion of 'Dancing With the Stars' last night.

After the finale, TV Squad spoke to the winner and runners-up Kyle Massey and Bristol Palin; their respective pro partners, Derek Hough, Lacey Schwimmer and Mark Ballas; as well as returning contestants about the rollercoaster that was season 11.

On the 'DWTS' Scene: Who Will Triumph in the 'Dancing With the Stars' Finale'?

by Michael Maloney, posted Nov 23rd 2010 10:10AM

They still have a few more dances to complete before the season 11 mirrorball trophy is handed out on 'Dancing With the Stars,' but the three finalist pairs have performed their highly anticipated freestyle routines.

Jennifer Grey and Derek Hough paid homage in their freestyle to a song ('Do You Love Me?') from 'Dirty Dancing,' the classic film from 1987 which Grey starred in opposite the late Patrick Swayze.

Teen activist Bristol Palin and Mark Ballas danced to a tune ('Cell Block Tango') from 'Chicago,' while Kyle Massey and Lacey Schwimmer did a hip hop-inspired freestyle to the '69 Boyz' song 'Tootsee Roll.'

'Dancing With the Stars' Season 11, Episode 19 Recap

by Michael Pascua, posted Nov 23rd 2010 5:15AM
Derek and Jennifer Paso on DWTS['Dancing with the Stars' - 'Finale, Night One']

So, the perhaps unlikely trio of Bristol Palin, Jennifer Grey and Kyle Massey has made it to the finale of 'Dancing with the Stars'. Night One consisted of a redemption dance of the judges' choosing, and the crowd favorite, Freestyle. Every season, I hope to see something as insane as Marie Osmond's doll routine, but tonight didn't bring anything that original. Lacey's routine looked similar to the one she did with Lance Bass, Derek's looked like his freestyle with Brooke Burke, and Mark's Broadway Freestyle was previously attempted by both Mya and Donny Osmond.

Who was the person that not only gave tickets to Omorosa, but sat her next to Kyle Massey's family? Omorosa should stop sitting in the audience -- she must be convinced that her face in the audience will be enough pressure for the producers to put her on next season. If we needed a reality star, there's a long list of reality contestants who are at least relevant that I would rather have on my television. If the producers wanted a celebrity that wasted their time sitting in the audience, they should ask Jamie Lee Curtis, who's been there supporting Jennifer Grey for weeks.

Jennifer Grey Cements Place as 'Dancing' Favorite With Two Perfect Scores (VIDEO)

by Oliver Miller, posted Nov 23rd 2010 12:38AM
Jennifer Grey Cements Place as 'Dancing' Favorite With Two Perfect ScoresThere were questions to be answered on 'Dancing With the Stars' (Mon., 8PM ET on ABC). Questions like: Would Jennifer and Derek remain the front-runners? Would Bristol Palin continue her improbable march to the finals? Would the ghost of Brandy haunt the studio, 'Phantom of the Opera'-style, after her bizarre elimination last week?

And tonight's show raised an additional question... what was the deal with that watermelon?

We'll get to the watermelon in a second. The theme for the show was "Redemption/Freestyle." Each pair had to re-do an older dance, followed by a routine of their choice. In both cases, Jennifer Grey and Derek Hough knocked it out of the park.

'Dancing With the Stars' Predictions: Who Will Win Season 11?

by Sharon Knolle, posted Nov 22nd 2010 12:05PM
Last week, we predicted that Bristol Palin could become the season 11 'Dancing With the Stars' champ. This week? Yep, she's still in the running.

We also predicted that Jennifer Grey ultimately would triumph, which is also still possible. The one thing we didn't see coming was that Kyle Massey, not Brandy Norwood, would be the third contender for the Mirror Ball.

On a season that's been this unpredictable, we size up the stars before the finale -- their best and worst dances, their strengths and weaknesses and who's got the best shot at winning.

On the 'DWTS' Scene: Brandy Is 'Numb' Over Her Shocking Exit

by Michael Maloney, posted Nov 17th 2010 11:00AM
Mark Ballas, Bristol Palin, Brooke Burke, Maksim Chmerkovskiy, Brandy NorwoodSeason 11 of 'Dancing With the Stars' has had more than its share of shocking exits, but none more than Brandy Norwood and partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy being sent home on last night's results show.

Many predicted that the singer would advance to the finals, but her surprise departure means that teen activist Bristol Palin, who not only entered the contest with no dance or performing experience but also scored consistently low with the judges, is going to the final round along with actress Jennifer Grey and actor Kyle Massey.

The three finalist duos walked the post-show press line, understandably enthusiastic over their victories, but members of the press had one question on their minds: How has Palin managed to make it to the finals?

"I've known that I've worked hard to get to where I am now," Palin said. "I definitely feel like I'm one of the most improved dancers on the show."

On the 'DWTS' Scene: What (and Why) Kyle Massey Held Back in the Semifinals

by Michael Maloney, posted Nov 16th 2010 11:35AM

Kyle Massey and Lacey SchwimmerTop-notch routines and high scores dominated the season 11 semifinals of 'Dancing With the Stars.'

It was also "cut open a vein night" with video packages that profiled difficult times in the lives of the remaining four celebrity contestants: Bristol Palin re-lived how her unplanned teen pregnancy thrust her into the spotlight after her mother, Sarah Palin, became John McCain's running mate in the last presidential election; Jennifer Grey re-visited the deadly car accident that she was in with then-boyfriend Matthew Broderick in 1987; Brandy Norwood also reflected on a fatal automobile accident in which she was involved in 2006; and Kyle Massey looked back at his difficult road to Hollywood.

The segments aired shortly before each couple did their second dance.

Three of the four remaining couples spoke to TV Squad on the post-show press line and shared their thoughts and feelings about the semifinal episode, including the emotional video packages.

Kyle Massey's Huge 'Dancing With the Stars' Weight Loss

by Catherine Lawson, posted Nov 16th 2010 8:50AM
Kyle Massey and Lacey SchwimmerKyle Massey's the latest celebrity to endorse the weight-loss benefits of appearing on 'Dancing With the Stars.'

Unlike fellow semi-finalist Bristol Palin -- who's previously said she hasn't lost any weight through being on the show -- Kyle says he's dropped 18 pounds and lost a whopping eight inches off his waist thanks to the punishing regime.

And in an interview with People magazine, the Disney Channel star says he's loving it. His dancing partner, Lacey Schwimmer, joked that " He looks in the mirror all the time."

Kyle attributes his new, leaner physique to the training schedule on the show: "It's crazy to think you're going to come into a competition like this and not lose weight with the hours you're going to have to put in. ... I know I'm going to keep losing weight as long as I'm on this show."

'Dancing With the Stars' Season 11, Episode 17 Recap

Kyle Massey and Lacey Schwimmer shake everything they have for their samba['Dancing with the Stars' - 'The Semi-Finals']

'Dancing With the Stars' finally reached the semi-finals with four characters that represented four different traits. Brandy had the best musicality, Jennifer the best acting, Kyle was the best entertainer, and Bristol had the best luck. The final two dances for each of the couples were split into two rounds. In the Latin round, the dancers had to incorporate a solo, but there didn't seem to be much emphasis placed on it. Previous seasons stressed a time component, or even the contestants suffering from nerves, but we saw none of that.

In round two, the Ballroom round, we got the stars' really truncated life stories. Brandy had the most celebrity fan-fare, and she even had Monica in the audience cheering her on. The producers avoided another potential booing incident by showing Bristol's mom, Sarah Palin, speaking only in recorded packages and not live, just in case.

On the 'DWTS' Scene: Kurt Warner Jokes About His 'Unfair' Exit

by Michael Maloney, posted Nov 10th 2010 9:00AM
Kurt Warner and Anna TrebunskayaKurt Warner earned both high scores and high praise from the judges on Monday night's 'Dancing With the Stars' performance show, but he and pro partner Anna Trebunskaya were sent packing on Tuesday's results program. The couple failed to receive enough viewer votes to take them to next week's semi-finals.

The former pro football player's departure means the four semi-finalists of 'DWTS'' season 11 will be singer Brandy Norwood, actor Kyle Massey, actress Jennifer Grey and teen activist Bristol Palin.

"Gosh, it was unfair," Warner said of his exit to reporters with faux outrage on the post show press line.

On a serious note, he added, "We all think it's unfair when we get kicked off the show. We felt for a long time that we should have gotten better scores than we did so, yes, you're disappointed when [this happens.] I'm just glad it's me and not one of the other guys [who's going home.] I don't want anyone to have to go."

On the 'DWTS' Scene: How Did Bristol Palin Turn It Around?

Bristol Palin, Mark BallasA series of surprises on 'Dancing With the Stars' could leave Bristol Palin on the show's ballot until November.

For starters, the teen activist and partner Mark Ballas earned their highest score yet with a 23 for their tango Monday night. They also picked up an additional 4 points during a group competition, which gives them a 5 point lead over the show's bottom-scoring couple.

"I realized if I wasn't going to go all out this week, that I'd be going home," Palin told TV Squad after the show's taping. "So I put everything I had into this dance and worked my butt off! Messing up last week could have destroyed me or given me more motivation and it did [the latter.]"

On the Scene: Will Florence Henderson Dance to the 'Brady Bunch' Theme on 'DWTS'?

by Michael Maloney, posted Oct 12th 2010 1:00PM
Florence Henderson on 'Dancing With the Stars'More about this week's performance show of 'Dancing With the Stars' in a bit, but here's a great reason to already get excited about next week's performances: The stars and their dancing pro partners will be performing routines to hit TV show theme songs.

A few couples revealed what song they'll be dancing to on the post-show press line, but it's up in the air if the most natural choice, Florence Henderson and Corky Ballas twirling to the theme song from 'The Brady Bunch,' is going to happen. First, the duo has to survive tonight's elimination show. Second, the song needs to go through certain legal clearances so it can be used on the show.

Henderson told TV Squad, "We're hoping [we dance to 'The Brady Bunch' theme]. I can't imagine that they would not [clear it.]" Of course, as her partner, Ballas, pointed out, "But first, we have to get saved."

On the Scene: Are the 'Dancing With the Stars' Judges Getting ... Nicer?

by Michael Maloney, posted Oct 5th 2010 10:30AM
Carrie Ann Inaba, Len Goodman, Bruno Tonioli Were the 'Dancing With the Stars?' judges a bit kinder on Monday night's week 3?

The stars and dancers think so, but not because Len Goodman and Bruno Tonioli were trying to make up for being extremely harsh on Michael Bolton last week. (Bolton was ejected after dancing a disappointing jive that Bruno called the worst in 11 seasons of 'DWTS.')

"Last week some of the comments were definitely harsh," said Anna Trebunskaya. "This week everyone got scared of those comments so they worked really hard and we had a great show as a result. We [all] did our absolute best."
