Gilligan gal caught with a joint or two
by Allison Waldman, posted Mar 12th 2008 9:09AM
So, the celebrity you would least expect to be caught with a doobie in her car got caught. Okay, maybe not, but it was still a stunner to read that Dawn Wells, who made sweet Mary Ann on Gilligan's Island her own, was busted for dope. Here's what happened: in Driggs, Idaho, on October 18, 2007, Dawn was driving back from a birthday party (for her) when the cops pulled her over for questionable driving -- swerving and speeding up then slowing down. When the officer approached, he noticed the distinct smell and asked her if she had marijuana.
Colbert announces running mate
by Brad Trechak, posted Oct 22nd 2007 12:30PM
According to this AOL article, Stephen Colbert has picked a running mate for his "presidential run". In keeping with his presidential theme of the ludicrous, the person in question is Senator Larry Craig, who is being investigated for a sex scandal in an airport men's room. The concept of a celebrity running a fake campaign for public office is nothing new. Howard Stern did a brief run for governor a few years ago. Ronald Reagan, a former actor, became president and Fred Thompson seems to be trying to follow in his footsteps.
The Daily Show: September 10, 2007

Hurrah! The Daily Show is back from its two week break. Sometimes I wonder if political figures purposely plan their big announcements to occur during Daily Show hiatuses (why am I tempted to use "hiati"?). It certainly felt that way this time around."R. Party: Trapped in the Closet": The biggest (or, at least, the most fun) news: Larry Craig's very gay scandal. As if the initial issue wasn't damaging enough, Senator Craig is now attempting to withdraw his guilty plea. Mmm... Scandal. It's so good. When Jon turned to the correspondent in the stall, I thought, "Oh wow. That sounds like Rob Corddry. But no. No, it can't be. But then again the delivery is alarmingly un-crappy... Maybe it's just John Oliver with a weird accent" but it was Rob Corddry! This was the part where I quietly cheered to myself and got some weird looks from the people walking around me.
