by Nick Zaino, posted Jun 14th 2011 5:10PM
Larry King on 'Access Hollywood Live'Larry King has been in radio and television for more than 50 years, 25 of them on CNN hosting 'Larry King Live.' To many, he is an icon. To 'Access Hollywood Live' (weekdays, syndicated on NBC), he's the guy you cut away to during a clip of 'The Bachelorette' to see what his reaction might be. That was where King's career found itself Tuesday on 'Access,' a situation which he playfully poked fun at.

"I got up for this?" joked King. "What is this? My career has come to this. I'm a cutaway."

Betty White Calls Sarah Palin a Crazy Bitch (VIDEO)

Larry King Live, Betty White, Sarah PalinIf anyone can save the mediocrity that is 'Saturday Night Live,' it's Betty White, who appeared on 'Larry King Live' (weeknights, 9PM ET on CNN) to talk about her upcoming hosting duties, which she says "came out of nowhere."

White also put her previous comment that Sarah Palin is "a crazy bitch" in context. It was on 'The Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson,' and they were doing a sketch in which she called Palin the B-word. Ok, we'll go with that, Betty.

Corey Feldman Discusses Corey Haim on 'Larry King' (VIDEO)

by Jane Boursaw, posted Mar 11th 2010 12:01AM
Larry King Live, Corey Feldman on Corey Haim's DeathWe were saddened to hear the news of Corey Haim's passing earlier today. Corey Feldman appeared on 'Larry King Live' (weeknights, 9PM ET on CNN) to talk about his best friend. The two co-starred in several projects, including 1987's 'The Lost Boys,' a vampire flick that developed a cult following.

While Feldman appreciates the good wishes of everyone, he wonders where they've been for the past ten years of Haim's life. He also encouraged people to stop jumping the gun on his death.

"They need to stop saying it's a drug overdose, because at the end of the day, until the coroner's report comes out, until we have specific evidence, until we know exactly what the toxicology reports say, nobody knows."

Roger Ross Williams Gets to Finish His Oscar Speech on 'Larry King' (VIDEO)

by Jane Boursaw, posted Mar 9th 2010 1:34AM
Larry King Live, Roger Ross Williams, Oscar SpeechOne of the awkwardest moments of the Oscars was during Roger Ross Williams' acceptance speech for 'Music by Prudence.' The producer was interrupted by his co-producer, Elinor Burkett, who rushed to the stage and hogged the mike away from him a la Kanye West.

But have no fear, because Williams got to actually finish his speech on 'Larry King Live' (weeknights, 9PM ET on CNN). Thankfully, Burkett was not in the studio to upstage him once again. You can tell those two seem like oil and water.

'Big Love' - 'End of Days' Recap

Bill Paxton as Bill Hendrickson on
(S04E09) "I'm Bill Henrickson, and I believe in the principle of plural marriage. I am a polygamist." - from Bill's acceptance speech

With those very words, Bill released his family from four seasons of hiding and seclusion and finally brought his lifestyle and faith out in the open in a way very few fans could have seen coming. It was bound to go public somehow someway, but no one could have predicted it would have been on the steps of the state capitol as he accepts the keys to a state senate office.

So why did it feel so unfulfilling and empty?

Walter and Judy Koenig Abruptly Leave 'Larry King Live' (VIDEO)

by Jane Boursaw, posted Feb 25th 2010 2:00AM
Larry King Live, Andrew Koenig, Walter KoenigThings are getting more interesting in the case of Andrew Koenig, missing since Valentine's Day when he was last seen in Vancouver. His parents, Judy and Walter Koenig (he played Chekhov in the original 'Star Trek') are in Vancouver helping police search for their son.

Apparently, they were all set to appear on 'Larry King Live' (weeknights, 9PM ET on CNN), but abruptly left the studio without explanation.

You have to wonder if they received information at the last minute that they couldn't talk about. Or maybe they're just too distraught to talk about it. Either way, it's all very sad, and we hope Andrew turns up safe and sound.

Larry King Live, Toyota RecallWhatever kind of crappy week you're having, just be glad you're not Akio Toyoda, the President and CEO of Toyota Motor Corp. He's having a tough week, but not as tough as people who've lost loved ones because of Toyota's problems.

Toyoda (yeah, we're not sure how the name fits in either) appeared on 'Larry King Live' (weeknights, 9PM ET on CNN) to offer his condolences to the families affected by Toyota's vast problems, which seem to be multiplying every day.

Whale Trainer Killed at Sea World (VIDEO)

by Jane Boursaw, posted Feb 24th 2010 11:50PM
Larry King Live, Sea World, Killer WhaleMaking headlines today was the tragic death of a Sea World trainer after things went awry with a killer whale. As it was explained on 'Larry King Live' (weeknights, 9PM ET on CNN), the whale grabbed the trainer and dragged her into the water where she drowned.

It all sounds just awful, doesn't it? And especially for anyone who happened to be nearby and witnessed the event. You wonder if this will prompt some extra safety precautions when dealing with the sea creatures. They don't call them killer whales for nothing.

Gold Medalist Evan Lysacek On Not Doing a Quad Jump (VIDEO)

by Jane Boursaw, posted Feb 24th 2010 12:20AM
Larry King Live, Evan Lysacek, Winter OlympicsGeez, a guy wins a gold medal and all he gets is grief. Figure skater Evan Lysacek is getting six kinds of misery from Russian silver medalist Evgeni Plushenko for not doing a quad jump in his routine.

Lysacek has his reasons. On 'Larry King Live' (weeknights, 9PM ET on CNN), he explained that he had a stress fracture in his left foot last year, which started bothering him while training the quad prior to the Olympics.

"I didn't want my Olympics to be the same experience as I had at the World Championships, where I was wondering if I'd get through it. So the solution was just to alleviate the pressure on the left foot and take just that one element out."

And we just have to mention that Lysacek looks like he jumped out of a British rock band from 1962, which is not at all a bad thing.

The Dalai Lama Stops by 'Larry King Live' (VIDEO)

Larry King Live, Dalai LamaIs it just us, or does it seem weird that the Dalai Lama would stop by 'Larry King Live' (weeknights, 9PM ET on CNN) to chat. Whatever, it's probably a good venue for the holy one to get his message out.

And that would be ... "to create better world, more compassionate world, peaceful world." Sounds like a plan. Wonder if President Obama had a beer with him when they got together.

Oh, by the way, contrary to popular belief, the Dalai Lama doesn't have healing powers. In fact, he had his gall bladder out a while back, so that pretty much confirms it.

James Cameron Talks 'Avatar' Sequel on 'Larry King' (VIDEO)

by Jane Boursaw, posted Feb 4th 2010 3:00AM
Larry King Live, James Cameron, Avatar sequelWith 'Avatar' poised to win an Oscar – or two or three – director James Cameron talked about the possibility of a sequel on 'Larry King Live' (weeknights, 6PM ET on CNN).

"I haven't started thinking about the story yet, although I have a general story arc for it," said Cameron. "But we have had some technical discussion of how we would do it."

Not only that, but we got to see how Larry King would look as a blue Na'vi. He's a little demon-ish, and now that we think about it, he'd probably pass for Lorne's slightly off-species second cousin on 'Angel.' Just think about it. That's all we ask.
