Law and Order Criminal Intent

Did Detective Goren Get a Proper Resolution on the 'Law and Order: Criminal Intent' Series Finale? (VIDEO)

by Nick Zaino, posted Jun 27th 2011 3:45PM
Vincent D'Onofrio as Detective Goren on 'Law and Order: Criminal Intent' Sunday night's 'Law and Order: Criminal Intent' (Sundays, 9PM on USA) was not only the season finale but the series finale for Detective Goren (Vincent D'Onofrio) and company after ten years of 'Criminal Intent.'

Spoiler alert.

After a season of therapy, it turns out that Goren will keep his job, even if the cameras aren't following him anymore. But will that resolution satisfy the show's fans?

Goren has always been an intense character -- he was once institutionalized undercover to crack a case. His obsession with "the puzzle" was a major driving force on the show, and something explored more directly in sessions with his therapist this season. As his therapist said on Sunday's show, "The job gives you structure, sense of purpose. But you're convinced that it's the only thing that defines you. You think without the puzzle, you don't matter. It's a lie, but it's the only one you've chosen to believe."

EXCLUSIVE Clip: James Van Der Beek Visits the 'Law & Order: Criminal Intent' Finale

by Jean Bentley, posted Jun 24th 2011 3:45PM
James Van Der BeekThis Sunday night, Vincent D'Onofrio and Kathryn Erbe will solve their last cases as Detectives Goren and Eames as 'Law & Order: Criminal Intent' wraps up its decade-long run.

The final episode of the series also gives first-time guest star James Van Der Beek -- yes, Dawson himself -- a chance to live out a dream he's had since he bombed a 'L&O' audition at 16. That's right, a young Van Der Beek once tried out for a small role on the original version of the Dick Wolf series. Things didn't go so well for him the first time around, but as we all know, everything turned out okay for the Connecticut teenager.

After the jump, watch AOL TV's exclusive behind-the-scenes clip of the Beek from the Creek describing that disastrous tryout. His episode -- the 'Criminal Intent' series finale -- airs this Sun., June 5, at 9PM ET on USA.

Jay Mohr Channels Charlie Sheen for 'Law & Order: Criminal Intent' Premiere (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted May 2nd 2011 10:20AM
Jay Mohr, 'Law & Order: Criminal Intent'For its 10th and final season, which kicked off last night, 'Law & Order: Criminal Intent' (Sunday, 9PM ET on USA) brought back its original stars in Vincent D'Onofrio and Kathryn Erbe. And they picked up the reins of the show as if they'd never been gone.

'Law & Order' built a franchise with stories "ripped from the headlines," and clearly the writers of this season premiere have been paying attention to the biggest story in Hollywood the past few months.

Jay Mohr guest starred as a fashion designer who's crazy antics, including apparent drugs and prostitutes, overshadow his professional life. Just take one look at his television interview, where he's speed-talking, throwing out non sequiturs and even trying to use "Instinct!" as a catchphrase of sorts. It simply screams Charlie Sheen.

Jay Mohr to Play Charlie Sheen-Inspired Character on 'Law & Order: Criminal Intent'

by Jean Bentley, posted Mar 29th 2011 3:30PM
Jay MohrSo far, no TV-movie genius has dared take on Charlie Sheen and his winning ways. But 'Law & Order: Criminal Intent' might come close when Jay Mohr plays a suspiciously Sheen-like character in an upcoming episode.

According to Deadline, Mohr will star in a pseudo-ripped-from-the-headlines episode later this season as Hollywood bad boy Nyle Brite, a "'rock star' fashion designer whose every creation turns to gold. His badboy reputation of cocaine benders and call-girl parties only skyrockets his career and mints him as the 'lovable rogue.'"

So the character's not an actor, but let's get real -- this is as close to a Charlie Sheen movie we're going to get until the Sheenster feels a little less litigious and people aren't afraid they're going to get sued for $100 million if they try to tackle the 'Two and a Half Men' debacle.
