LeAnn Rimes Dishes About 'Drop Dead Diva,' Life with Husband Eddie Cibrian and her 'Days' with Jensen Ackles

by Michael Maloney, posted Jun 19th 2011 9:00AM
Brooke Elltiott and LeAnn RimesLeAnn Rimes is not a diva -- she just plays one on TV.

This Sunday, the singer/actress will guest star on the season premiere of the Lifetime series 'Drop Dead Diva,' which stars Brooke Elliott whose model character (Deb) was plopped into the body of a savvy lawyer named Jane. Hiliarty, songs and guest stars continue as the show celebrates season 3.

Rimes will play the ex-wife of a movie star accused of hit and run. Is the show capitalizing on her off-screen life with new hubby Eddie Cibrian, star of the NBC fall series 'The Playboy Club?' Maybe. But the important thing is that Rimes is walking into the role hoping to poke fun at all the perceived drama that has surrounded her life.

AOL TV spoke to the actress about why she took on this particular role, how she and Cibrian handle being written about in the tabloids, her first gig with 'Supernatural' hunk Jensen Ackles and much more.

Eddie Cibrian's Ex Reportedly Shooting Scenes for 'Real Housewives of Beverly Hills'

by Maggie Furlong, posted May 4th 2011 7:00PM
Brandi Glanville, Adrienne Maloof & Marla MaplesBack in February, we reported the story that Eddie Cibrian's ex, Brandi Glanville -- the one he cheated on with his now-second wife LeAnn Rimes -- was possibly in talks to join the cast of Bravo's 'The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' for its second season.

Now, TMZ is saying that the scorned Glanville is a go for the 'Housewives' treatment. "Sources close to the production tell TMZ, Brandi inked the deal very recently -- and has already begun shooting scenes for the show."

Bravo has only confirmed that there will be a second season of the show, and has not commented on any cast changes, but judging by Glanville's heated back-and-forths with Cibrian and Rimes, she'll bring plenty of drama to La-La Land.

The model may already be chummy with the 'RHOBH' gals: She's seen here with one of the show's star Adrienne Maloof, as well as Donald Trump's ex Marla Maples. (Now she'd make for some good TV!)

LeAnn Rimes Gets Emotional, Weeps Over the Past Year's Events, Sings a Christmas Song (VIDEO)

LeAnn Rimes Gets Emotional, Weeps Over the Past Year's Events, Sings a Christmas Song"Last year was a really tough year for me," says singer LeAnn Rimes. And that's the truth. The fallout from her divorce and her well-publicized affair with actor Eddie Cibrian continues. This October, she made waves by appearing in 'Shape Magazine,' of all things. Some readers were upset that an "adulteress" was in the magazine, the editor apologized for putting her on the cover, LeAnn was angered by the apology, there was an apology for the apology ... it got weird.

It was a traumatic end to the year. Rimes' divorce was finalized in June, but people haven't gotten over the affair involving "America's Sweetheart." On the first-ever 'CMA Country Christmas' special (Mon., 9:30PM ET on ABC). LeAnn reflected on past events -- since that's what the holidays are for; it's a time of reflection as well as gift-giving. The singer also shed some tears, which hopefully isn't what the holidays are for.

Ms. Rimes discussed the rough time she's had, saying that she sent out a special Christmas letter to the friends who were "there for [her] night and day" during her divorce and subsequent "scandalous" period. While she talked about this, the singer's eyes started to well up. "I am so gonna start crying," she said. And then she did.

'Extreme Makeover': Saving a School That Was Washed Away in a Flood (VIDEO)

'Extreme Makeover': Saving a School That Was Washed Away in a FloodThe Tennessee floods of May, 2010 were a "1,000-year-event" -- the type of flood predicted to occur only once every millennium. Flooding caused at least $1.5 billion worth of damage in Nashville alone. It was a devastating once-in-a-lifetime event for residents in the area. Many television viewers also saw a one-time-only sight. Shocked viewers watched as a schoolhouse floated away -- down a flooded highway that had become a river.

This swept-away schoolhouse was part of the Lighthouse Christian School, which has been run by the Sweatt family since 2003. After the floods, the Sweatts led relief efforts in the area, assisting over 200 families. But now, their school is in danger of shutting for good ... unless they get some help. So 'Extreme Makeover' (Sun., 8PM ET on ABC) comes their aid.

Gordon Ramsay Grills LeAnn Rimes on 'Cookalong Live' (VIDEO)

by Donald Deane, posted Dec 16th 2009 11:40AM
On 'Gordon Ramsay: Cookalong Live,' celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay prepared a three-course meal at breakneck speed, and still found time to pepper LeAnn Rimes with questions on a recent tabloid story.

Ramsay didn't touch on Rimes' highly-publicized affair with actor Eddie Cibrian. Instead, he brought up a tabloid story detailing a string of three car accidents the country singer allegedly had over the past six months.

On the Scene at 'Gordon Ramsay Cookalong Live'

by Allyssa Lee, posted Dec 16th 2009 9:13AM
It was a kindler, gentler Gordon Ramsay on display in this Los Angeles-based kitchen set. The famously hard-nosed, expletive-spewing foodsmith donned a casual plaid button-down shirt and jeans and didn't utter a single bad word during Fox's 'Gordon Ramsay: Cookalong Live,' in which the chef showed the nation how to cook a three course meal all in the span of one hour. (In fact, the star of 'Hell's Kitchen' cheekily reminded those of us in the studio audience to mind our language.) There were no dishes cracked, no spit showers to "piss off, and no berating. The only thing that was remotely threatening about the program was the fiery flambé -- well, that, and the chef's tendency to lean uncomfortably close to his female guests.

Kelly Clarkson signs with...NASCAR

by Brett Love, posted Jan 19th 2007 11:01AM
Kelly ClarksonYou might think that Kelly Clarkson has it all. With two Grammy awards, five #1 singles, and over ten million copies of her latest record sold, what more could she ask for? Well, a "NASCAR. How bad have you got it?" commercial of course. The spot is part of a big deal the two have signed.

The relationship kicks off February 18th with Clarkson headlining the NEXTEL Tribute To America, live on Fox, before the Daytona 500. The commercial will combine race footage with Clarkson's performance and feature a song from her upcoming third album. She's in good company working with NASCAR. Other musicians that have been part of the promo series include Red Hot Chili Peppers, Jewel, Lenny Kravitz, Leann Rimes, and Sheryl Crow.
