5 Things to Know About 'Glee' Newbie Damian McGinty

by Crystal Bell, posted Oct 28th 2011 6:00PM
Gleeks, say hello to McKinley High's latest heartthrob: Rory Flanagan, played by 'The Glee Project' winner Damian McGinty.

Fans of the Oxygen reality competition show swooned over the 18-year-old former Celtic Thunder singer, partly because of his dreamy Irish accent, but mostly because of his adorably clumsy footwork and his velvety smooth voice.

Next week's 'Glee' (Tues., Nov. 1, 8PM ET on Fox) marks the much-anticipated arrival of McGinty as McKinley High's new Irish foreign exchange student, but he's not exactly receiving the warmest welcome.

"Rory is very sweet and really innocent, and it's kind of sad because he wants to fit in and he always has a smile of his face, but he's just getting continually bullied," McGinty told us. "He's getting thrown off lockers and pushed into lockers. It's quite sad. He just wants friends and for people to like him." See? Adorable.

Sarah Hyland Apologizes to Lea Michele on the Emmys 2011 Red Carpet

by Crystal Bell, posted Sep 18th 2011 8:30PM
Sarah HylandSarah Hyland upset millions of Gleeks on Saturday's 'Fashion Police' when she poked a little bit of fun at 'Glee' starlet Lea Michele and her pouty red carpet poses.

Hyland's seen Michele work her red carpet magic -- and when Joan Rivers asked the young 'Modern Family' star if she could do it herself, Hyland went a little Regina George on Michele.

"So it's like a slow-motion picture kinda thing," Hyland told Rivers. "It's just like, she puts her hands on her hips like this and sticks out her collarbone-I don't know if you can see-she sticks out her collarbone to make her look skinnier and she goes [pouts lips] sticks out her lips."

Seeing as the 'Glee' fans were not impressed, Hyland had to do some damage control on the Emmy Awards red carpet.

Ryan Murphy Blames Media for 'Glee' Cast Drama, Puts Spin-Off on Hold

by Chris Harnick, posted Jul 29th 2011 11:10AM
Ryan Murphy is doing quite a bit of backpedaling following conflicting interviews given by himself and co-executive producer Brad Falchuk about the fate of a few graduating 'Glee' characters.

In an interview with the Hollywood Reporter, Murphy said the characters played by Chris Colfer, Lea Michele and Cory Monteith will be graduating from McKinley High School in 2012. While it's been no secret that some 'Glee' characters would graduate next year -- reports date back to December 2010 -- some of the actors claimed ignorance to the news. Colfer said he found out via Twitter, causing a media frenzy.

Glee Spin-Off News
'Glee' co-creator Brad Falchuk appeared at Comic-Con and tried to put out the fire by claiming the characters are graduating, but they're not necessarily leaving the series.

"It was never our plan or our intention to let them go. ... They are not done with the show after this season," Falchuk said.

'Glee' Co-Creator Brad Falchuk Says Chris Colfer, Lea Michele and Cory Monteith are Staying With the Show

by Catherine Lawson, posted Jul 25th 2011 7:30AM
'Glee' castIs there a little discord over in the 'Glee' camp? Last month Ryan Murphy said that several major 'Glee' cast members would be leaving the show at the end of Season 3. Their characters would graduate McKinley High and be replaced by new characters, just like in a real high school.

Makes sense, right? Well, yes and no. First, some of the actors concerned -- who are still under contract with the series -- expressed surprise at the news, with Chris Colfer saying that he'd found out via Twitter.

Then, last week Amber Riley said that the actors are all fine with the decision, and Lea Michele tweeted that "It's all part of the plan and it's all good."

Now, however, has Murphy's co-creator Brad Falchuk tossed a wrench into the works?

He told a Comic-Con audience that the characters are graduating, but they're not leaving the show: "It was never our plan or our intention to let them go. ... They are not done with the show after this season."

Oh, but he still had bad news for Sam fans: Chord Overstreet is done with the show.

Amy Poehler, Lea Michele and More Comedy Actresses Dish Career Ups and Downs (VIDEO)

by Chris Harnick, posted Jun 15th 2011 5:45PM
Amy PoehlerWhat happens with you throw Amy Poehler, Jenna Fischer, Kaley Cuoco, Lea Michele, Julie Bowen and Teri Hatcher into a room together? Hilarity.

The aforementioned funny ladies gathered as part of The Hollywood Reporter's Emmy Roundtable series to discuss their big breaks, best moments and those bad jobs everybody in the industry seems to have had.

In the video, Poehler attributes the success of her transition from improv to 'Saturday Night Live' to her experience with the Upright Citizens Brigade.

"It's very difficult to comment on your own career," Poehler said, with the other women nodding in agreement. "It's very strange, you kind of want to leave it up to other people to dissect it."

'The Office' star Fischer wasn't shy about revealing details of her career. She admitted to working as a telephone psychic and spending three years working at a car wash.

'Glee' Preview: New Original Song Debuts, Jesse & Rachel Duet on 'Rolling in the Deep'

by Jean Bentley, posted May 10th 2011 4:05PM
Glee, PromWhen the New Directions take the stage in New York City for their Nationals competition on 'Glee,' they'll sing another original song.

Ryan Seacrest premiered the new tune on his radio show this morning, and it sounds even better than the previous two original tracks. The song opens with Santana (singing to Brittany, we think?) and Artie taking the lead before the rest of the Gleeks join in.

Listen to the song after the jump, where we've also included a bonus video of tonight's return of Jesse St. James to McKinley High. There's a spontaneous duet with Rachel on Adele's 'Rolling in the Deep' involved, and it's as epic as you think it'll be.

'Glee': Listen to Original Songs 'Get It Right' and 'Loser Like Me' Here

by Chris Harnick, posted Feb 25th 2011 10:20AM
'Glee': Listen to Original Songs 'Get It Right' and 'Loser Like Me''Glee' is crossing a new frontier on March 15: Original songs. That's right, Lea Michele gets to headline two original tracks written specifically for the hit Fox series.

Can't wait for sectionals to hear the songs? We're here to help!

'Get It Right' is a straight Rachel Berry ballad. Think lots of classic diva influences. We can picture her doing plenty of that trademark eye-closing and hand thrusting.

'Loser Like Me' features the whole cast. Written by Max Martin, a frequent collaborator with P!nk and Britney Spears, the song is very poppy and sure to get stuck in your head (despite the cheesy lyrics).

Listen to the songs after the jump.

Before They Were 'Glee' Stars

by PopEater Staff, posted Feb 13th 2011 4:00PM
Glee cast
It might be hard to remember a world before 'Glee' now, but just two short years ago, hardly anyone knew who Lea Michele, Cory Monteith and Golden Globe winner Chris Colfer were.

The 'Glee' cast members all had lives and jobs before they became household names. Hollywood Life recently reported Cory Monteith was a Wal-Mart greeter before his big break. You know who else had a sucky part-time job in a department store? Finn Hudson. Which got us thinking -- how similar are the actors to their 'Glee' characters?

Let's compare, shall we?
