by Aimee Deeken, posted Apr 14th 2010 4:23AM
"Queen of Mean" comedienne Lisa Lampanelli is engaged, she announced on the 'Tonight Show' (weeknights, 11:35PM ET on NBC). But that wasn't all her news.Lampanelli thinks she knows the real reason Kevin Eubanks is leaving the show. She even capped off her theory by saying, "The last time I saw a black man that sad, his wife had hit him with his own golf club."
Sitting in the front row of the studio audience was her fiance -- "Jimmy Big Balls" -- whom Jay Leno compared to cast members of 'The Sopranos.' From there, she went on to discuss the difficulties of planning a wedding amid the couple's boisterous Italian relatives.

Comedy Central's holiday weekend Stand-Up Blowout
by Nick Zaino, posted Jul 3rd 2009 9:32AM
Since programming anything new is probably a waste on a holiday weekend, Comedy Central is programming roughly 4,000 previously aired stand-up specials (okay, just 40, but that's a lot) from some of the biggest names on its rosters, including Dane Cook, Jeff Dunham, Katt Williams, Louis C.K., Lewis Black, Brian Regan, Demetri Martin, Ron White, Lisa Lampanelli, and Jim Gaffigan. They'll also sprinkle in some of their Comedy Central Presents half-hour showcases. It's called the Stand-Up Blowout Weekend. The first special is at 3 PM - Aisha Tyler is Lit: Live at the Fillmore and end, officially, with Drew Hastings: Irked and Miffed at 3 AM Monday morning. Sunday at 10PM is the network premiere of Dave Attell: Captain Miserable, which originally aired on HBO on December 8, 2007.
Comedy Central goes all-out to roast Larry the Cable Guy - VIDEOS
by Nick Zaino, posted Mar 12th 2009 5:24PM
It seems Jeffrey Ross already has the line of the night for Sunday's Roast of Larry the Cable Guy (Comedy Central, 10 PM), which isn't surprising, because he's a longtime Friars Club member. In the trailer, Ross slams, "This is ridiculous, he's not even a real person! Why don't we just roast Dora the Explorer or Popeye the Sailor Man?" Fictional character he may be, Mr. The Cable Guy has attracted Jeff Foxworthy, Warren Sapp, Toby Keith, Gary Busey, Maureen McCormick, fellow comic Reno Collier, and Roast regulars like Ross, Greg Giraldo, and Nick DiPaolo. "Queen of Mean" Lisa Lampanelli will serve as the first female Roastmaster for the Comedy Central series (the Friars, originators of the roast, have only had a couple of female Roastmasters -- Susie Essman did the Smothers Brothers and Joy Behar did Danny Aiello).
Jim Carrey and Lisa Lampanelli producing HBO pilot
by Kristin Sample, posted Jun 20th 2008 4:21PM
Jim Carrey, Lisa Lampanelli, and Kario Salem are set to produce a half-hour HBO pilot. Lampanelli will star as a woman who inherits a famous comedy club in Los Angeles, presumably one like Shore's Comedy Store on the Sunset Strip where Carrey himself got his start. According to Variety, "the central character is a Mitzi Shore type, a woman who unexpectedly becomes the owner of a comedy club and is forced to play a maternal role in the dysfunctional lives of the club's clutch of resident comics." This sounds interesting. I'm looking forward to Lampanelli in a lead role. I know she's can be nasty but she's very quick-witted and has great delivery. Carrey is currently shooting I Love You Phillip Morris with co-star Ewan McGregor. He recently finished Yes Man, a Warner Bros. comedy, and A Christmas Carol, a Robert Zemekis film for Disney. Lampanelli, who has been a regular guest on Howard Stern and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, recently signed a deal with Harper Collins for a book entitled The World According to Lisa: The Queen of Mean's Guide to the Universe.
