It's been well-publicized that Regis Philbin is leaving 'Live With Regis and Kelly' at some point this year. What we don't know is what Philbin plans to do after he wraps the show for the final time. On 'Access Hollywood Live' (weekdays, syndicated on NBC), his former co-host Kathie Lee Gifford said she doesn't think Philbin will retire.

Gifford and Philbin hosted the show back when it was 'Live With Regis and Kathie Lee,' and the two had a nightclub act together. She said Monday she still sees Philbin and his wife Joy frequently. "I think he's ready for the next thing," she said. "Regis is not going to retire. He wants to own his own schedule a little bit more."

Is Kathie Lee Gifford coming back to daytime? Does Regis know; does he care? Well, whatever the case with Reeg, there is talk that La Kathie Lee may be ready for a new talk show gig. In the Hollywood Reporter, Today executive producer Jim Bell said Kathie Lee Gifford is on the short list as a co-host for the fourth hour of the show. "I think she's a great talent," he said of KLG, while adding that other names are in the hopper as well.
