Lost Catch-22

Lost death pool update: Week eleven

by Erin Martell, posted Apr 23rd 2007 9:39AM

Dominic Monaghan and Henry Ian CusickCharlie cheated death yet again! Of all the possible Charlie death scenarios so far, the arrow in the neck is my favorite. If he keeps this up, Charlie will risk being compared to Kenny from South Park. I have more news from last week's update about a certain guest star, but I will save that for after the jump.

Chris Wyant, April, and ts are still in the top spots. Alex, bbf203, BlackViking, darciedyan, Ed W., Gregory Capobianco, Holli, Hubba, jks, Kat, Kenneth Chong, Kristi Parry, Lauren, Michael, PlusDrew, Priscilla, RedStarRevolution, and Tracy are close behind. For a complete list of death pool standings, please refer to the post for Week Eight.

Stop reading if you want to avoid potential spoilers for "D.O.C."

Yunjin KimThis week's Lost audio podcast was full of information about the rest of Season Three. Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse previewed next week's episode, "D.O.C.," and answered questions about recent episodes. • The actors were surprised at fan's reactions to "The Glass Ballerina." Some viewers believed that Jae Lee was pushed to his death, but Yunjin Kim confirmed that he did, in fact, commit suicide. She said that the script made the suicide far more clear, but that the episode was edited in a way that made Jae Lee's death more ambiguous.

Henry Ian Cusick(S03E17) Poor Desmond. I know that everyone on the island has a sob story, but Desmond is easily the most tragic Lost character. He continues to test himself and seems to be desperate for a sign that he is doing the right thing. Henry Ian Cusick delivered another brilliant performance, proving that he deserves all the screen time that he can get.

The Flashback

The newest piece of Desmond's back story answered a lot of questions about his past behavior. I have always wondered what kept Desmond in the hatch all of those years (besides fear). His preoccupation with purpose, sacrifice, and tests began in a monastery.
