Lost Survivor Guide was a vast improvement

Damon Lindelof and Carlton CuseNormally the Lost recap specials are nothing more than generic clip shows, but the Lost Survivor Guide was a welcome departure from that trend. There were clips, of course, but the interviews with producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse shaped them far more than the typically broad statements from the narrator. In case you didn't catch the credits, the episode was narrated by Kyle MacLachlan, which I'm hoping was a shout-out to his role in Twin Peaks, as opposed to ABC "comedy" Desperate Housewives.

Lost Survivor Guide special to air before midseason premiere

Devoted Lost fans will spend the hour leading up to the show's winter premiere watching Lost--Survivor Guide, a clip show hosted by executive producers Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof. As usual, the episode will feature collections of major characters' flashbacks and brief summaries of past storylines. The episode's description also claims that some possibly unnoticed "island secrets" will be revealed. The employment status of previous recap show narrators Peter Coyote and Brian Cox was not mentioned.
