Lost character flashbacks: Part four

by Erin Martell, posted Mar 9th 2007 3:41PM

Dominic Monaghan, LostABC just released the fourth installment of the Lost character flashback videos. This week, the Locke flashbacks have been replaced with the first Charlie flashback video. Flashbacks for Jack, Kate, and Sawyer are also available, and will probably conclude in a few weeks.

Part One of Charlie's flashback begins with Charlie as a young boy. His mother gives him a piano for Christmas, and we learn that she expects his talent to benefit the family someday. The video moves ahead to Charlie as an adult, playing bass for pre-fame Driveshaft. After visiting a priest for confession, Charlie determines that he must quit the band to avoid temptation. His brother, however, has other ideas. Liam dangles a recording contract in front of Charlie, and promises to look out for him in the future.

Terry O'Quinn as LockeThe third group of Lost character flashback videos is now available on ABC's website, continuing the back stories of Kate, Locke, Jack, and Sawyer. The Kate video covered the character's attempt to settle down with a police officer named Kevin. Her urge to run is revisited by a scene in which Kate calls the marshal, pleading for a break

The Sawyer flashback showed the conclusion of the long con plot line, which featured guest star Kim Dickens. In the video, we see Sawyer admit to conning Cassidy while simultaneously confessing his love for her. Ultimately, his true intentions are revealed when he makes off with her $600,000.

Evangeline Lilly as KateThe newest set of Lost character flashback videos has been posted on ABC's website. I was hoping that they would show the flashbacks of some of the other characters this week, but ABC continued with the stories of Jack, Kate, Locke, and Sawyer.

Jack's video featured his late night encounter with Desmond in an empty arena. I had forgotten that Desmond mentioned that he was "almost a doctor" in that scene. Perhaps this will be cleared up if Desmond ever gets a military flashback. Jack's subsequent healing of future wife Sarah was also shown.
