Who Won the Trip Around the World on 'Love in the Wild'? (VIDEO)

'Love in the Wild'Congratulations to the Peacock on what turned out to be a very fun first season of 'Love in the Wild' (Wed., 10PM ET on NBC). The season finale saw the final two couples racing to the finish line for a chance at a first class trip around the world.

As I watched the season, though, I couldn't help but see it as the love story of Samantha and Mike. Maybe it's because they were paired up on the first adventure and instantly began what would turn out to be a long-term and legitimate romantic connection, but something about that pair was so dynamic all season.

An Injury Could Eliminate One 'Love in the Wild' Contestant (VIDEO)

'Love in the Wild'To mix things up this week, the couples on 'Love in the Wild' (Wed., 10PM ET on NBC) were forced to switch it up, leading to poor Mike and Samantha facing their first challenge separated. But before the challenge was finished, one contestant suffered a serious injury that may just jeopardize his standing.

The last part of the challenge had the couples carrying a heavy wooden idol up a steep flight of stairs, with Erica and Derek leading the pack. But then Derek dropped the idol, smashing his toe.

We were impressed that he was able to power through and still finish in third place, but after medics checked him out, he was forcibly eliminated from the game. He came back at the Couples Choice Ceremony, though, to tell Jess that she has an open invite to visit LA any time.

Derek Falls Through a Bridge and Shrieks, on 'Love in the Wild' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Jul 7th 2011 3:23AM
'Love in the Wild''Love in the Wild' (Wed., 10PM ET on NBC) came up with a fun adventure for the remaining couples this week. They had to navigate through a series of bridges high above the tree canopies while tethered to one another. Along the way they gathered more tethers, drawing them closer and closer.

This made navigating some of the bridges tricky, especially one that was missing planks and forced them to walk on the ropes. But it was on this bridge that Jessica saw Derek unravel. He wasn't the only one deathly afraid of heights, but he was the only guy, and Jessica was less-than-impressed with his girlish shriek.

'Love in the Wild': 2x the Reality, 2x the Fun

by Stephanie Earp, posted Jul 4th 2011 2:30PM
I've never really followed an entire season of reality dating show, except for Meredith's turn on 'The Bachelorette', mainly because I was pretty sure she was doing it as a joke.

So color me surprised to find I actually enjoyed the debut of 'Love in the Wild' last week and have mentally penciled episode two into my calendar this Wednesday (9PM ET/PT, CTV/NBC). The show definitely hearkens back to the era of 'Paradise Hotel' or 'Temptation Island' but manages to feel like a fresher take on the pretty-people-in-a-hot-tub genre. Basically, it's a blatant attempt to mix 'Survivor' with 'The Bachelor'. The result includes some of the best and worst elements of both of those shows.

What to Watch: TV Picks for June 27 - July 3

The Voice - Tuesday June 28, 9PM ET, CTV/NBC

The show ends this week, with the final four singing tonight and results tomorrow. I've enjoyed what I've seen of the show, though I admit I wasn't devoted to it. Most of my pleasure has come from watching Adam Levine try to be Simon Cowell, and wondering what Xtina is going to wear next. We get it, sweetie, you have a small waist and big chest.
