Foie Gras Protest Backfires on 'Ludo Bites America,' More Customers Order It (VIDEO)
by Jason Hughes, posted Aug 24th 2011 6:14AM
Foie gras is a dish made up of fattened duck liver. There's a controversy around it because in France, the ducks are reportedly force-fed corn to fatten their livers. Because of this, a group of protesters set up shop outside of Chef Ludo Lefebvre's touring restaurant on the latest 'Ludo Bites America' (Tue., 9PM ET on Sundance). When he found out they were out there, with signs protesting the cruel treatment of ducks to make the dish, he shouted to them through the windows.
"That's too bad for you!" he shouted. "I'm serving a lot of foie gras tonight."

In a segment sure to provoke mock-patriotic outrage from Stephen Colbert, French chef Ludo Levebvre appeared on 'Today' (weekdays, 7AM ET on NBC) and made a pork shoulder in a salt crust, North Carolina-style. But at least Levebre has American TV credits: He is the star of the Sundance Channel's 'Ludo Bites America,' has been on 'Top Chef Masters,' and is known as the "king of the pop up restaurants."Showing the audience how to make the dish on the "Today's Kitchen: Step-By-Step" segment, Levebvre made the crust with salt, flour, water, and canola oil and wrapped it around a pork shoulder with the bone still in it. "It's better with the bone because you get more flavor," he said.

!!!BLOOD AND GORE ALERT!!!
Where Ludo not only killed and then butchered a 1,200-lb buffalo, he also chowed down on its raw, warm -- possibly still-beating -- heart.
Ludo Lefebvre Cooks With Holly Robinson Peete on 'The Talk' (VIDEO)
by Nick Zaino, posted Jul 27th 2011 6:15PM
Holly Robinson Peete revealed a hidden talent and French chef Ludo Lefebvre revealed a crush Wednesday on 'The Talk' (weekdays, syndicated on CBS). Peete, Levebvre, and Leah Remini participated in a cooking segment, making a special taco recipe with a French twist. As they were setting up the segment, Peete let loose a stream of very convincing French, putting Lefebvre at ease, since, as he said, his English is not very good. High-fiving Remini, Peete said, "I paid attention in French class." It impressed Lefebvre, but perhaps he was predisposed to being impressed by Peete. "I'm shaking a little," he said. "Because when I was a young kid I had a crush on you. Always look at you."
