After the Oprah-calypse: Who Can Fill Oprah's Seat?
by Stephanie Earp, posted Apr 6th 2010 11:58PM

Rumor has it that Rosie O'Donnell is being set up as Oprah's replacement when the Daytime Queen retires from her eponymous show in 2011. At least that's how the industry gossips put it. The truth is that while Rosie is planning a talk show to launch when the Oprah set goes dark, it's being produced by a different company and will probably run on cable, not on ABC.
But who can resist speculating about who could replace Oprah Winfrey? Since Oprah announced that her show would be ending its 25-year run, a short list of possible candidates has included Ellen DeGeneres, Rachael Ray, Martha Stewart, Sarah Palin, Tyra Banks and even Michelle Obama. But I think Oprah is irreplaceable. Sure, you could give another woman her time-slot, but in the world of daytime talk, time-slots are meaningless. You live or die on your own ability to capture the public imagination.

Mackenzie Phillips on Chynna's Stint in Rehab (VIDEO)
by Donald Deane, posted Mar 17th 2010 1:00PM
On 'Good Morning America' (weekdays, 7AM ET on ABC), Mackenzie Phillips defended her decision to reveal in her 2009 memoir that she'd been molested by father John Philips, and said the shocking news is likely the reason why half-sister Chynna entered rehab for anxiety. When asked why Phillips chose to make the news of her incestuous relationship public, she replied, "Right now a child is being raped ... So what should I do? Follow the path of sweep it under the carpet? Don't talk about it? The more you challenge this conspiracy of silence, the less silence will be acceptable."

Heidi Fleiss Calls Tom Sizemore a 'Loser' on 'Celeb Rehab' (VIDEO)
by Jane Boursaw, posted Mar 5th 2010 3:20AM
It's heartening to see Mackenzie Phillips – or Mac Attack, as Dennis Rodman calls her – doing really well. "It is amazing that you are standing here today, doing 20 years of these hard, hard drugs," said Rodman, "but you keepin' it together, man."But not all of the feedback was positive as the celebs came to the end of their stint on 'Celebrity Rehab With Dr. Drew' (Thu., 10PM ET on VH1). Heidi Fleiss looked at Tom Sizemore and said, "Tom, I'm gonna go very easy on you. I look at you, and I feel so good, because you're such a loser. And the thought of bein' with you would turn a woman gay."
Harsh, Heidi. You'd better watch your back, girl. And maybe take a look in the mirror.

Former TV Child Stars Do the Craziest Things
by Daynah Burnett, posted Dec 22nd 2009 10:00AM
Maybe it's all that pressure to be super-cute and squeaky-clean, but it seems like when child stars go bad, they go really, really bad. Whether it's drugs, porn or whatever it is Gary Coleman does, we combed TV history to compile a list of child stars who have fallen the farthest. The immortal Valerie Bertinelli signs on for TBS sitcom
by Jason Hughes, posted Aug 20th 2008 11:05AM
Personally, I don't think it's fair that some of these Hollywood folks get to just keep on making television shows. Especially the ones who don't age like the rest of us. I mean, what if I was waiting for Valerie Bertinelli to get too old for television? Or John Stamos, or Michael J. Fox? These people never look any older. I think they've found the Tuck's secret spring and have been sipping it for decades. In the end, there can be only one and my money's on Dick Clark. I think he is one of the Tucks.Bertinelli has just been signed to star in a TBS sitcom as a mother of two. Good lord, One Day at a Time was more than thirty years ago! By my estimations that would make her ... let's see, she was a teenager then ... yes I know you can find her birthday easy enough online ... cross-reference how much hotter she was than Mackenzie Phillips ... then carry Schneider's creepy factor of 9.5 and you get ... one hundred and thirty two years old! Amazing! She doesn't look a day over forty-eight. I've gotta find that spring.
Today to host classic TV cast reunions
by Allison Waldman, posted Feb 22nd 2008 12:02PM
Reunions are hot, you know? On February 12, for example, Oprah reunited (most of) the kids from The Cosby Show, with Bill appearing via satellite. Well, never one to let a good idea go to waste, NBC jumped on the theme. They recently had a Family Ties reunion on Today, so now the morning show is commencing tomorrow with a series of more "Together Again" features. Tune into 8:00 a.m. hour each day so you don't miss a thing!TV Squad Hot Topics
