Mad Men season 4

'Mad Men' Emmy Winning Streak Continues

by Maureen Ryan, posted Sep 18th 2011 11:35PM
'Mad Men' had to watch other dramas take home the acting, directing and writing awards Sunday night, but it still won big at the Emmys.

For the fourth year in a row, the AMC drama took home the Best Drama Emmy, and winning didn't appear to have gotten old for the show's ecstatic cast and producers.

Mad Men cast

Surrounded by dozens of producers, writers and cast members from the show, creator Matthew Weiner said, "Oh my goodness. I did not think that was going to happen."

'Mad Men's' 10 Most Meaningful Lines of the Season

by Jane Murphy, posted Oct 19th 2010 12:20PM
As we look back and dissect 'Mad Men's' finale, delaying hibernation from Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce for one more day, let's take a look at season 4's most meaningful lines.

Not necessarily the most memorable lines, mind you. Our winner in that category: "I would have my secretary do it, but she's dead."

This list is dedicated to the dialogue – evocative, ironic, or more than a little strange -- through which creator Matthew Weiner and company gave small (very, very small) clues to his epic story.

Beware: Spoilers for all of season 4 ahead.

TV's Top 10 Cheaters

by Jane Murphy, posted Sep 27th 2010 2:30PM
Love makes the world go 'round, but there's nothing like infidelity to drive story.

These memorable TV characters, from shows of the '80s, '90s, '00s and present -- very married or allegedly monogamous -- broke their vows in most spectacular fashion.

Heroes, anti-heroes and villains, they have one very naughty thing in common -- two-timing.

Roger and Joan, 'Mad Men.' Mr. Sterling and Mrs. Harris have elbowed now-divorced Don aside as the show's super-cheaters. Fans wanted Roger (John Slattery) and Joan (Christina Hendricks) to forget their spouses and reunite – so why do we feel so queasy after last weeks post-mugging tryst (and resulting pregnancy)?

'Mad Men' Season 4, Episode 7 Recap

['Mad Men' - 'The Suitcase']

"You know what? There's a way out of this room we don't know about."

In Sunday's terrific 'Mad Men' episode, 'The Suitcase,' Don Draper said that about a rodent in his office. But he might as well have been talking about himself.

The episode was one of the series' best hours and a sensational acting showcase for Jon Hamm and Elisabeth Moss.

If anything, 'The Suitcase' made the case even more strongly that, as I wrote last week, this is the best season of 'Mad Men' yet.

AMC Denies Season 6 End for 'Mad Men'

by Rich Keller, posted Apr 20th 2010 10:20AM
'Mad Men' ending after season 6? According to AMC, don't believe what you read.Have you ever had one of those moments, in which you find out that someone you know had said or done something without telling you first? If so, welcome to AMC's world.

As we reported yesterday, Weiner told an audience at last weekend's NAB convention that 'Mad Men' would wrap its run up after season 6. AMC's response? Uh, not exactly.

Apparently, Weiner never told the network of his intentions, so, in an attempt to ease the surprise and anger of fans, AMC issued a response saying that no date had been set for the show to end. The statement went on to say that it trusts Weiner's vision for the show and its future direction.

Needless to say, this may drag on for a bit. In the meantime, fans can at least take comfort in some more positive news from the 'Mad Men' front: According to the Hollywood Reporter, the show's highly anticipated fourth season will officially kick off on Sun., Jul. 25 at 10PM ET.
