Viacom to Pull 'Colbert,' 'Daily Show' From Hulu

And now for some not-so-funny news: On Mar. 10, Comedy Central will bid sayonara to Hulu, meaning it will no longer provide episodes of 'The Daily Show with Jon Stewart' or 'The Colbert Report' on its site.

According to Variety, Comedy Central owner, Viacom, has concluded that not enough revenue is being generated through the commercial-supported site. Hulu is a joint venture of three media giants: News Corp., NBC Universal and Disney.

In a statement, however, Comedy Central was careful not to diss Hulu, calling its 21-month relationship "a great experience." Writing on Hulu's blog, Andy Forssell, senior VP for content and distribution, said Comedy Central had been vital to its growth, citing "increasing revenue per view as advertisers voted with their budgets to take advantage of innovative ad formats and very strong advertising effectiveness."
