Jonas Brother Will Not Be on 'Brothers and Sisters' After All

by Isabelle Carreau, posted Feb 6th 2010 7:03PM
Joe JonasEarlier this week, we informed you that 'Brothers & Sisters' was considering casting Joe Jonas to play a younger version of Tommy in a special two-hour episode filled with flashback sequences and set to air in April.

Fan reaction from the news differed a lot. Some fans were glad at the idea of one of the Jonas brothers to be part of the series as Joe not only shared physical features with actor Balthazar Getty, which would have helped making this younger version of Tommy be believable, but also because the Jonas Brothers' following could have tuned in the show and help boost the ratings.

Other fans were outraged at the idea that Joe Jonas could land the role. Comments ranged from fans claiming that Joe did not look like Getty at all to them wondering if Joe Jonas had the needed acting skills to play such a role.

No matter what's your opinion, Jonas did not get the part after all. A young actor from 'Make It or Break It' was offered the role instead.

Melissa Joan Hart, Joey Lawrence Reunite for ABC Family Sitcom

by Chris Jordan, posted Feb 1st 2010 3:01PM
The chemistry between Melissa Joan Hart and Joey Lawrence, who co-starred in the ABC Family movie 'My Fake Fiance' last spring, was apparently good enough to warrant its own show.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the network has just ordered 10 episodes of a new comedy series, aptly titled 'Melissa & Joey.' The upcoming sitcom is set to hit the small-screen airwaves sometime this year.

'My Fake Fiance,' in which Hart and Lawrence played two schemers who stage an engagement between them to collect wedding presents, garnered more than three million viewers when it premiered in April. In the new series, Hart will play an overwrought politician who hires Lawrence to help straighten out her family issues.

'Make It Or Break It' Interview With Candace Cameron Bure & Peri Gilpin

by Maggie Furlong, posted Jun 19th 2009 6:00PM
Make It Or Break ItFor all the attention gymnastics gets every Olympics, it's about time someone made a show about it. But ABC Family's new original series 'Make It Or Break It' (premieres Mon., June 22 at 9PM ET) isn't a reality show -- it's a scripted drama that centers on aspiring gymnasts. Stories revolve around the high level of competition in the sport and how the pressure affects not just the girls, but their families as well.

The show also marks a return to series television for two TV favorites -- 'Full House' alum Candace Cameron Bure, who plays the girlfriend of one of the girl's dads, and Peri Gilpin, of 'Frasier' fame, who portrays a mom of one of the young gymnasts. We got them to admit that neither was ever a gymnast herself ... either from lack of opportunity or just plain lack of skill (ahem, Peri).

AOL TV got the exclusive scoop from both stars on their new show and took a look back at their most iconic roles -- and the friendships and hairdos they've kept since. -- By Maggie Furlong
