Lawyer gets Manic on HBO
by Kona Gallagher, posted Jul 1st 2008 12:00PM
It looks like Jason Schwartzman isn't going to be the only one on HBO with problems. HBO has just announced that it is developing an hour-long drama titled Manic for the fall season. Based on Terri Cheney bestseller, Manic, A Memoir, the series focuses on a successful female attorney secretly struggling with bipolar disorder. Both the book and the series tell the story of Cheney's own life as a lawyer who kept her illness a secret form her boss as she dealt with her demons and tried to keep her career on track. While no details regarding casting have been announced, Cheney is set to serve as consulting producer. Janet Tamaro (Bones, Sleeper Cell) is set to create the pilot and executive produce.
