Queen Latifah Has a 'No-Die' Clause in Her Movie Contracts (VIDEO)
by Harley W. Lond, posted Apr 12th 2010 5:09PM
Queen Latifah is a rarity in today's Hollywood: She has a no-die clause put in every one of her contracts. What does that mean? It means she can't be killed off in a movie. According to Latifah, who appeared on Monday's 'The Martha Stewart Show' (weekdays, syndicated), she got killed off so many times in the beginning of her career -- and did it so well -- that she was afraid that she would be typecast. And if she kept dying in her films -- well, that meant no sequels.Watch the video after the jump.
Martha Stewart: The Cable TV Network?
by Kim Potts, posted Mar 30th 2010 9:30AM
Oprah will soon have her own TV network (called OWN), and domestic doyenne Martha Stewart may not be far behind. With her syndicated 'Martha Stewart Show' already moving to the Hallmark Channel in September, Stewart and Crown Media, the parent company of the Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movie Channel, are in preliminary talks to launch a new Martha-themed cable network.
The new network would tentatively be called Hallmark Home, though, given Hallmark's recent deal to pepper its line-up with Stewart-produced fare, the lifestyle guru already has a huge cable presence.
Ol' McMartha has a farm, ee-ay, ee-ay-oh!
by Allison Waldman, posted Aug 27th 2008 1:38PM
Oh, boy, I can't wait! Finally, after all this time we're going to get to go behind the gates, into the exclusive, much-discussed but rarely filmed Martha Stewart estate. Actually, not the whole estate, but part of it. On her syndicated show, Martha Stewart's 153-acre Bedford, New York farm will be on display in the season ahead. When the show returns with new episodes on September 15, Ms. Martha will share all the fun stuff she grows and prunes and plants. You know what this means, don't you? Compost heap! Seriously, Martha believes in natural recycling.
There will also be her state-of-the-art greenhouses and her extensive flower and vegetable gardens. Over a hundred guests will join Martha on her tour of the farm.
