Mary Steenburgen Jokes With 'The Talk' Ladies About Ted Danson's In-Bed Interview (VIDEO)

When Ted Danson was on 'The Talk' (weekdays, syndicated on CBS) a few weeks ago, he conducted his interview from bed, in pajamas, surrounded by the talkshow's group of female hosts. As it turns out, Danson's wife, actress Mary Steenburgen, wasn't watching the interview live, but she did hear about it ... right before boarding an airplane.

Steenburgen described getting a text from a friend with the message, "Oh my god, I'm laughing so hard at your husband in bed with all those women," right before she had to shut her phone down for a five-hour flight.

Mary Steenburgen, 'Wilfred'We got a little bit of insight into Ryan's psyche and family history when Mary Steenburgen appeared on 'Wilfred' (Thu., 10PM ET on FX). She played his mother, who's spent the last 20 years in a mental institution of her own free will.

But now, she's ready to step back into the real world, and where better to do that than with her estranged son Ryan. After she shows Wilfred some love, he's all for giving Mom a second chance, and completely attaches himself to her.

But Mom proves to be a little off-center still, and Ryan was simply too inflexible to allow her outlandish stories and behavior. But really, was she that much more embarrassing than anyone else's mother? Okay, the mooning incident was a bit much.

Oscar-winning actress Mary Steenburgen has landed a lead role in the ABC comedy 'Southern Discomfort.' Steenburgen will play the matriarch of the series, about a father whose adult children suddenly move back in with him. Steenburgen was last seen on the big screen in 'The Proposal' and 'Did You Hear About the Morgans?', and won 1980's Best Supporting Actress Oscar for 'Melvin and Howard.' [Hollywood Reporter]
