Matt Roloff, patriarch to the Roloff family of the very popular TLC reality show Little People, Big World, was found not guilty of Driving Under the Influence by a Washington County, Oregon judge. He made this decision even though it was a jury trial. You see, a few of the jury members got into a bit of trouble. But first, more about Matt.

Back on June 19th of last year the 46-year-old Roloff was pulled over after a sheriff's deputy saw his van leaving a bar and weaving over lane lines. During testimony last week Roloff mentioned that he was only dropping off a friend at the bar and never left his car. He also testified that he was tired from a cross-country RV trip he took with his family and that the pedal extensions on the van he was driving (it was his wife Amy's van) were different than what he was used to.

I have to get something off of my chest. Something has bugged me about Little People, Big World ever since its premiere that I can't get out of my mind. While it may seem minor to some, it just makes me feel uncomfortable when I see the show. I'm not talking about the Roloffs themselves. On the contrary, I think what Matt and Amy do on a daily basis should be commended and be an example to all of us that we can do anything if we put our minds to it.

From the comments I received in my last Little People, Big World post it seems that there is a fairly big fan base for this TLC show. So, all of you will be happy to hear that the 3rd season of Little People will be premiering on April 9th. This is a move from Saturday to Monday nights.

Much has happened to the Roloff family since we left them during a very successful pumpkin season (I'm sure assisted by their appearance on television). In the fall youngest son Jacob and Matt's business partner Mike were both injured in a pumpkin catapult mishap. Both recovered quickly as it seemed that their injuries weren't as severe as first thought. Over the Christmas holiday another Roloff entered the hospital. This time it was Zach, who went in for surgery due to constant pain in his leg, something that was shown during the last season of the show. Like brother Jacob, Zach is also fully recovered.

But the biggest news is that the Roloffs have decided to close the U-Pick peach portion of the farm in order to clear that area for more pumpkins. A few items of note concerning TLC's hit reality series Little People, Big World, which just completed its second season. First, the new season will begin in March and will move from Saturdays at 8:00 pm to Mondays at the same time. From the 'Next on . . .' previews Little People had during their season finale, the first episode of the third season will show the accident that put Matt Roloff's son Jacob and business partner Mike into the hospital.

Next, Matt now has his own show where he interviews other little people that are inspiring to him. One of the people he interviews is Meredith Eaton, who has had a recurring role on Boston Legal this season as attorney Bethany Horowitz. Other interviews feature talk on why the Dwarf Athletic Association of America is so important to little people, and the risks and challenges little people face when they want to have children. It's now official. Our favorite, new, reality family, the Roloffs, return with all new episodes of Little People, Big World starting October 7th on TLC. I saw a new commercial for the series this weekend and everyone looks a little older. Especially Matt, whose hair has turned a brighter shade of gray. Not to worry if you haven't seen the ad, though, for I'm sure we'll be seeing plenty of it during the Big World episode where Zach goes into surgery and Matt returns to the software industry.

Hey, let me ask you a question, person to anthropomorphic blob of TV Squad readers. Do you think that the rest of his family, including Amy, are a bit, I don't know, ungrateful? I mean, Matt goes through all of the trouble building exciting play areas around the farm for his kids and designs a kitchen that is the right size for Amy to use, and all they can do is bitch about it and give him lip. The man was practically bed-ridden for the first ten years of his life and is trying to make a happy existence for his family. Don't you think he deserves a bit of slack?

Oh, and a question from my wife as well. When will they be cleaning up that house? It's always a mess!

I like TLC's Little People, Big World. I really do. I think Matt Roloff, who is a little person, is a great example of someone who has not given up on his life, despite his disabilities, and had decided to live it in the most interesting way possible. I also enjoy watching the dynamic between Matt, his wife Amy (also a little person) and their family.
