Blossom Has a 'Big Bang Theory' on Love
by Kim Potts, posted Mar 29th 2010 9:25AM
At last, Sheldon Cooper is getting a girlfriend, and she's a very familiar face to TV fans.'Blossom' star Mayim Bialik has signed on for a recurring role on CBS' 'The Big Bang Theory,' in which she'll play a potential love interest for the socially backward, but adorkable Sheldon (Emmy nominee Jim Parsons).
Bialik's character, Victoria, will be introduced in the May 24 finale of 'Big Bang.' Victoria is described as the female equivalent of nerdy Sheldon, and the potential love match is made when the two meet on eHarmony.

Sheldon Cooper May Get a 'Big Bang'
by Brad Trechak, posted Mar 27th 2010 1:00PM
It seems that the producers of 'The Big Bang Theory' have decided it's time for Jim Parson's character of Sheldon Cooper to have a girlfriend. Mayim Bialik will appear on the season finale of the sitcom as Sheldon's date, a potentially recurring role. This has serious shark-jumping disaster potential. Sheldon has been repeatedly shown in the past as having zero interest in a romantic relationship. It's one of the hallmarks of the character. He's even rejected Danica McKellar.
On the other hand, the major event could be him simply feeling his age and wishing to procreate his genius. He'll probably run out of other options such as cloning. Also, Bialik's character is described as a female version of Sheldon, perhaps she's seeking a "brain-only" relationship, too.
Still, it does seem a bit like selling out. Romantic relationships are in every sitcom, but I was hoping 'The Big Bang Theory' wouldn't succumb to sitcom peer pressure and keep some of the elements that made it unique. We'll see how this change of character is executed before any final judgments are made.
'Blossom' Cast: Where Are They Now?
by Kim Potts, posted Feb 16th 2010 4:00PM

The duo already co-starred in a very successful made-for-TV ABC Family movie, 'My Fake Fiance,' last year, and both are also past 'Dancing With the Stars' contenders, but we were wondering ... what else has former teen pin-up Lawrence and the rest of his 'Blossom' buddies been up to since their NBC sitcom left the airwaves in 1995?
Mayim Bialik talks about her faith and her return to acting
by Kona Gallagher, posted Jul 14th 2009 1:00PM

I suppose if you want to be cynical, you could say that Mayim Bialik is in the midst of a comeback, with several recent television roles, including guest stints on Bones, Secret Life of the American Teenager, and now, Saving Grace. However, it's not as though the erstwhile star of Blossom has spent the last fifteen years sitting around waiting for the phone to ring. After the series' end, she attended UCLA, got married, had two children, and even earned her PhD last year.
Ms. (er, Dr.) Bialik has indeed been busy, but she is now looking to make her way back into Hollywood. She's guest-starring on Saving Grace tonight as Esther, a Hasidic Jewish mother of seven, whose own mother is found murdered in a field full of dead cows. I spoke with Mayim about Saving Grace, the lasting legacy of Blossom, and how she hopes people see her today.
Here's that What Not To Wear/Blossom crossover you never asked for
by Annie Wu, posted May 21st 2009 2:26PM
Okay, so it's not a legit crossover, but it's more fun if you think of it that way. Blossom star Mayim Bialik is getting a makeover on the season premiere of TLC's What Not To Wear (new episodes return May 29th). Post-sitcom-fame motherhood has left her a little frumpy and hiding behind shapeless hair, and her friends and family want her to do something about it. I'm sure whatever catty nonsense the hosts subject her to won't be as embarrassing as that time I was watching an episode and suddenly realized I was wearing the same thing as Clinton Kelly.TV Squad Hot Topics
