'Daily Show' Slams Fox News for Criticizing Others' Extreme Rhetoric and Denying Their Own (VIDEO)

by Aimee Deeken, posted Jan 25th 2011 7:40AM
Jon Stewart Slams Megyn Kelly on 'Daily Show'Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly recently criticized democratic Rep. Steve Cohen for including some extreme rhetoric in his comments on President Obama's health care reforms.

"[Saying that] it's a government takeover of health care [is] a big lie, just like Goebbels," said Cohen, referring to Adolf Hitler's propaganda minister. "The Germans said enough about the Jews, and the people believed it."

Kelly took issue with the congressman's choice of words. Democratic strategist Richard Socarides told Kelly, "The leading commentators on this network use this kind of language." She protested, "That's just not true."

Trust 'The Daily Show' (weeknights, 11PM ET on COM) to then find clips of Fox News' Bill O'Reilly comparing some blogs to Hitler's publicity machine, and Glenn Beck calling a pro-Obama book and video "propaganda pieces and, I'm telling you, they would make Joseph Goebbels proud."

This may not seem like a particularly funny story, but it was to Kelly, who was so amazed by the medical freezing concept that she burst out into uncontrollable laughter.

Will Melissa Petro, Prostitute-Turned-Teacher, Be Able to Keep Her Job? (VIDEO)

by Jeremy Taylor, posted Oct 1st 2010 5:35PM
New York City public school teacher Melissa Petro has caused quite a stir by blogging about her past, which included stints as a stripper and a prostitute. Some parents, and New York Mayor Mike Bloomberg, want the 30-year-old fired, but that will be difficult to do because Petro has tenure.

Appearing on 'America Live' (Weekdays, 1 PM ET on Fox News) criminal defense attorney Joey Jackson made a fairly compelling legal cause for why Petro won't be axed, concluding "it may be easier to get rid of the Pope."

Then Jackson's trial lawyer instincts got the best of him, and he started testifying as to Petro's character.

"I think she's reformed. . . What an example she is to come back from prostitution," he argued.

"Do you want her teaching your kids?" America First host Megyn Kelly interrupted.

"Um, that would be problem," Jackson admitted, with a smile.

Did 'CSI' Use Justin Bieber to Slander the Tea Party? (VIDEO)

by Jeremy Taylor, posted Sep 28th 2010 6:15PM
On last week's episode of 'CSI,' singing sensation Justin Bieber guest starred as a domestic terrorist bomber, and some Fox News pundits are suggesting the character was written as a Tea Party sympathizer (although the Tea Party movement was never mentioned by name in the episode).

On 'America Live' (weekdays, 1PM ET on Fox News), Megyn Kelly raised the question of whether CBS and 'CSI' were using Bieber to take an "ugly swing at the Tea Party."

Does Kim Kardashian Have a Legal Case Against Playboy? 'America Live' Panel Debates (VIDEO)

by Jeremy Taylor, posted Sep 10th 2010 4:30PM
Does Kim Kardashian have a legal leg to stand on in her fight to prevent Playboy from publishing previously unseen nude pictures of her from a photo shoot three years ago?

That was a topic of discussion Friday afternoon on 'America Live' (Weekdays, 1 PM ET on Fox News).

"It comes down to the bare facts -- no cover up -- on the contract and the clauses in the contract," was legal analyst Lis Wiehl's take. "Is there a time limitation on the contract? Is there a method of means limitation on the contract?"

"If the lawyer that made that contract for her three years ago did not put those kind of constraints in there," Wiehl continued. "(Kardashian) is looking at another lawsuit --and that would be malpractice with the lawyer who formed that contract."

Defense attorney Mark Eiglarsh seemed surprised Kardashian would consider a suit at all:

"Let me just make sure ... This is the same Kim Kardashian featured in that sex tape playing naked leap frog? I just want to make sure -- that shy meek young lady."

Yup, same one.

Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly takes on Playboy

by Bob Sassone, posted Jun 5th 2009 5:02PM
In a way it's hard to talk about this since we can't read the article that Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly is talking about (it has been removed from the Playboy site), but if it's 1/10 as disgusting as she says, then she has a right to be angry.

Election Night: Fox News (Part 1)

by Jason Hughes, posted Nov 4th 2008 9:56PM
Fox News
FOX NEWS - AMERICA'S ELECTION HQ
. Not dramatic enough? Maybe we could spruce it up a bit. "Fox News - For Election Coverage that's Guaranteed Right!" Even some of their analysts were reluctant to think that the country could go to the left of center.

Fox News Channel is a part of the new media, running streams of election data along the bottom, including a static corner box tracking projected electoral votes. We get two different bits of election data next to that, changing about every 7 seconds. Above that is an Alert bar with text data "Fox News Projects John McCain has won Kentucky." And, of course, they kept it scrolling through the commercials, too.
