by Nick Zaino, posted Sep 14th 2011 3:45PM
Mehcad Brooks on 'Wendy Williams' As season one of 'Necessary Roughness' comes to a close, Terrence "TK" King is having a few problems. Mehcad Brooks, who plays King, stopped by 'Wendy Williams' (weekdays, syndicated on CBS) to talk about the show and to make sure people knew that he is not having the same problems as his character.

"In the season finale tonight, he's kind of having some panic attacks, just because everything in his life is sort of coming to a culmination," Brooks said of King. "And you're having erectile problems," Williams said. Brooks smiled and sat back on the couch, looking playfully upset. "On the show!" Williams added, but too late.

Mehcad Brooks talks about 'Necessary Roughness' on 'Good Day New York'While his character, Terrence "TK" King might be suffering from panic attacks, Mehcad Brooks seems pretty confident in his show, 'Necessary Roughness.' The USA dramedy wraps up its first season Wednesday with guest appearance from Terrell Owens. Brooks stopped by 'Good Day New York' (weekdays, 9AM ET on Fox) to preview the finale and the show's renewal prospects.

A clip from the finale showed King's problem - he sees Terrell Owen's character everywhere he looks. "He's having panic attacks on the field because of this guy called The Minefield, who's played by Terrell Owens for our season finale," explained Brooks. "It's an amazing story. It was a lot of fun to shoot, and it's something the whole family can watch."

'My Generation' Series Premiere: The Future Is Like a Weird Blind Date (VIDEO)

by Oliver Miller, posted Sep 24th 2010 8:45AM
'My Generation' Series Premiere: The Future Is Like a Weird Blind DateIf you happen to live in New York City (as this 'TV Squad' writer does), then the ads for 'My Generation' are fairly inescapable. They're plastered on every bus and subway car -- teaser posters featuring attractive twenty-something people, with vague yet pithy quotes below the characters' faces.

These quotes are meant to illuminate the characters' inner lives; they say stuff like, "Dumping you was the worst mistake I ever made," or "When I'm with him, I'm thinking of you," or "I'm done paying for your mistakes." It's all very intriguing; or at least, intriguing-ish.

But now, the actual series pilot is upon us, and it's time to see if it lives up to the pre-show hype. Who are these pretty young people? What is 'My Generation' (Thu., 8PM ET on ABC) actually all about?

[Warning: Spoiler alert.]

Outside the Box: Talkin' About 'My Generation'

by Neil Busch, posted Sep 16th 2010 5:40PM
Outside the Box interview with the cast of 'My Generation'In this new Outside the Box interview, the stars of 'My Generation' -- Jaime King, Julian Morris, Michael Stahl-David, Keir O'Donnell, Kelli Garner and Mehcad Brooks -- sat for our cameras to discuss what they were like in high school, their most embarrassing experiences there and just how awkward filming love scenes can be.

The cast told us that recreating high school life as adults wasn't as easy as it might look. King and Brooks, in particular, found cheerleading and playing full court basketball as if they were still energetic teens particularly exhausting. But reenacting school isn't all work: Everyone had good things to report about shooting the faux prom.

Review: The Deep End - Pilot (series premiere)

The Deep End: Pilot
(S01E01) "Are we supposed to love this job or hate it?" - Dylan Hewitt

I like this show! Let's face it. Grey's Anatomy is dying, and The Deep End is Grey's Anatomy (the early years, that is), only with lawyers. It's got plenty of snappy dialogue, romantic sparks, inter-office power struggles, handsome people in nice clothes, office sex, Black-Eyed Peas tunes and cupcakes! What's not to love?

Mehcad Brooks moves from True Blood to The Deep End

by Jane Boursaw, posted Sep 3rd 2009 11:03AM
Mehcad Brooks in The Deep EndI'm sort of glad to hear that Mehcad Brooks is leaving HBO's True Blood to join the cast of ABC's midseason legal drama The Deep End. At least, I hope that's what it means.

Between his character Benedict "Eggs" Talley, whiny Tara Thornton, and shaky Maryann Forrester, I won't be sorry to see that whole storyline come to an end. And if my recent conversation with Alan Ball means what I think it means, Brooks probably won't be returning. Well, maybe. Stay tuned for that interview.

True Blood: Timebomb

True Blood - Timebomb, Hoyt and Jessica

(S02E08) "It grew back." - Jessica to Hoyt

You know, I never really thought about it, but Jessica is in a really interesting situation. She was a virgin when she was turned, so of course, each new time she makes love, it's going to "heal up," and she'll have to start from scratch, so to speak. What an awful predicament!

It's not so bad for Hoyt, who seems happy that "every time will be like our first time." Not so for Jessica, who says, "But it'll hurt like hell. I'm a fucking deformity of nature. I'm gonna be a virgin forever."
