Fox Orders Pilots From 'Heroes' and 'Veronica Mars' Creators, 'Alex Mack' Star Joins 'Hawaii Five-0' and More
by Chris Harnick, posted Jan 19th 2011 11:30AM
'Veronica Mars' and 'Party Down' creator Rob Thomas could be back on TV with his new pilot order from Fox for a single-camera comedy called 'Little in Common.' Suddenly, everything feels right in the world.According to Deadline Hollywood, the show follows three families who are united thanks to little league sports. Thomas also sold 'Temp,' a workplace comedy, to NBC.
Now the question we're all thinking: Which 'Veronica Mars' and 'Party Down' stars will get cast in these pilots?
Also at Fox, the network has ordered 'Touch' from Tim Kring, creator of 'Heroes.' The drama pilot follows a father and his autistic and mute son. The son can predict events before they happen.
In other TV news ...
• Larisa Oleynik has joined the cast of 'Hawaii Five-0.' Oleynik, fondly remembered from her days on Nickelodeon's 'The Secret World of Alex Mack,' will play ex-CIA analyst Jessica Kaye. The character, a Harvard graduate, will be recurring for the rest of the season with an option to become a series regular in season 2. [TVLine]
• Tricia Helfer will guest on 'No Ordinary Family.' The 'Battlestar Galactica' vixen will appear in at least one episode. No word on what powers -- if any -- she'll have. [TVLine]
• There will be no Guns N' Roses episode of 'Glee.' Slash said the band has been approached by the show, but turned the producers down. [Entertainment Weekly]
The Office's Melora Hardin talks to TV Guide
by Kristin Sample, posted May 15th 2008 2:41PM
Melora Hardin, who plays Jan on NBC's The Office, recently opened up to TV Guide about her character, office romances, "Miley-gate," and The Office finale. Here's a few tidbits from the interview: - About Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus, Hardin says that she's acting like a normal fifteen-year-old and "I think it's more a question of her handlers protecting her image."
- Melora Hardin also talks about her new movie (which her husband wrote and she directed) called You. It's a coming of age story about a father and daughter. Hardin, her husband, her parents, and her children are in it.
- Hardin admits that she herself has had an office relationship. Her husband! She met him at a wrap party, "So I guess you could consider that an office romance, being that wrap parties are part of my office setting."
Seventeen of TV's hottest women over 40
by Joel Keller, posted Nov 6th 2007 11:22AM
About two years ago, I set out to list the hottest women on TV who are over 40, over 50, and over 60. There were a lot candidates to choose from, even in the over 60 category, making it a particularly tough set of list to compose. But now that our friends at AOL have decided to compile a list of TV's 50 sexiest women of all time (starting today with Nos. 50-41), I'm going to take on an even greater challenge: making one master list of seventeen beauties over 40. It's not as easy as you think; the TV landscape has changed a bit, and a few new strong contenders have recently entered their 40s, and a few of the previous list members have left the TV landscape. To make this list, a woman has to have been a regular or significant guest on a TV series or news program in 2007. So, after the jump, a list -- in no particular order -- of fifteen beauties who combine looks, maturity and grace to make one compellingly sexy package.
Thumbnails are with the list, but you can click on the gallery below to get a much better view of these lovely women. Then add your own choices in the comments.

Gilmore Girls: Partings (finale)
by Joel Keller, posted May 9th 2006 10:42PM
(S06E22) After all the criticism that's been heaped on the Palladinos lately, from their departure from Gilmore Girls to the depressing storylines they've written this season, it's time for me to give them some praise. First of all, despite everything, I'm going to miss them; Amy Sherman-Palladino's voice is unique in the TV universe and GG is not going to be the same without her or her husband Daniel. So I want to thank them for giving me and a loyal fan base an entertaining, funny, and charming show for six years. As far this episode, one that essentially explodes the world of GG as we know it, is concerned, I will give AS-P praise for this: Lorelai's look.
