Michael Cera to Guest Star on 'The Simpsons'

by Catherine Lawson, posted Jun 3rd 2011 7:10AM
Michael Cera'Arrested Development' and 'Superbad' star Michael Cera joins the long and illustrious list of stars who have recorded a guest spot on 'The Simpsons.' And Cera even got to play a potential love interest for Lisa.

'Simpsons' executive producer Al Jean told 'Entertainment Weekly' that Cera provides the voice for Nick, a seemingly gallant boy.

"He starts quoting Hemingway and she says, 'You're not a product of the Springfield public schools, are you?' And he goes, 'No, I come to Springfield for the food and the women.' So he talks a good game."

Sadly for Lisa, first appearances can be deceptive, and she starts to realize that Nick is "less than expected."

'Arrested Development' Cast: Where Are They Now?

by Kim Potts, posted Feb 10th 2011 1:45PM
Arrested Development
It's been five years since the Emmy and Golden Globe-winning family comedy 'Arrested Development' left the airwaves, and, though we say this with a little grain of salt, it looks like the long-rumored big-screen version of the series is finally a go, maybe even for later this year.

And while we can't wait to see those wacky Bluths back in action, it's not like the cast members have been sitting around twiddling their thumbs since the 'Arrested Development' finale aired on Feb. 10, 2006. In fact, they've been a pretty busy bunch, including many projects in which they've continued to be co-stars ...

Michael Cera Talks Going Undercover at Comic-Con in a Gorilla Disguise (VIDEO)

by Aimee Deeken, posted Aug 12th 2010 5:30AM
Michael Cera's Gorilla Disguise at Comic-Con on 'Late Night'It may not have been a big stretch for Michael Cera to get his geek on at Comic-Con. There to promote 'Scott Pilgrim vs. the World,' he decided to line up for the film's Scott Pilgrim Experience, where fans could get custom T-shirts and meet the cast.

How did he get away with this? A handy gorilla mask. "I didn't see any other gorillas, but I fit in because people wore masks there," he explained on 'Late Night' (weeknights, 12:37AM ET on NBC). But he still became the center of attention.

"People came up to me and wanted to take a picture with me just as a guy wearing a gorilla mask. No one knew it was me, but they wanted to take a picture with the gorilla guy."

Actor that he is, he assumed the persona of "the guy who went to Comic-Con wearing a gorilla mask." So ... any pictures floating around FaceBook of a "gorilla party animal" at Comic-Con? That would be Michael Cera.

Jason Schwartzman, Michael Cera's Comic-Con Highlight: Meeting Erik Estrada (VIDEO)

by Aimee Deeken, posted Jul 30th 2010 4:00AM
'Tonight Show': Jason Schwartzman Talks Meeting Erik Estrada at Comic-ConGood news is Jason Schwartzman and Michael Cera got to meet Erik Estrada of 'CHiPS' fame. Bad news is it didn't quite turn out as Schwartzman would have liked -- and he may now have a weight complex.

The 'Scott Pilgrim vs. The World' actor ran into Estrada in a hotel stairwell during Comic-Con, he said on 'The Tonight Show' (weeknights, 11:35PM ET on NBC). "He points at my mustache and says, 'That's a nice mustache, baby,'" said Schwartzman.

Cera always wanted to meet "Ponch", so the 'Pilgrim' co-stars scurried to get their picture taken with him. "He immediately picks up Michael Cera," explained Schwartzman. "In that picture I feel extremely jealous because he's holding Michael, and I'm the one who wants to be held."

But picking him up proved to be more difficult. Is the actor really that heavy? Jay Leno decided to find out.

Michael Cera joins the cast of Jersey Shore in a hot tub, for some reason

by Bob Sassone, posted Jan 8th 2010 4:30PM
MIchael Cera got into a hot tub with the cast of MTV's Jersey Shore recently. I'm hoping this was a promotion for Youth in Revolt and not a meeting of new friends. Cera talks about going on The Late Show with his hair like that, but he didn't (though his hair is pretty bizarre right now as it is). Actually, that clip is better than this one. It shows Cera on La Femme Nikita years ago.

Actor Michael Cera recounted the dangerous circumstances involving a trip he made in the past to a spooky abandoned train station in Detroit on 'Late Night with Jimmy Fallon'

"There's this train station in Detroit that was designed by the guy who did Grand Central ... It's been abandoned since '85 or something. So, it's just filled with rubble and broken windows ... While we were in there, we heard gunshots," Cera said, describing the experience as "terrifying."

The latest about the Arrested Development movie

by Allison Waldman, posted Oct 5th 2009 11:02AM
Does it seem like every other month there's some talk about the proposed Arrested Development movie? Perhaps that's because it's an idea that simply won't go away until the film is actually in theaters and fans of the Emmy-winning Fox series will finally be satisfied. Well, satisfaction may be just around the corner. The Arrested Development movie is really developing now. Creator Mitchell Hurwitz is at work on the screenplay -- working with co-executive producer James Vallely -- and the Bluths are creeping closer to big screen reality.

Arrested Development movie update: not much of an update

by Bob Sassone, posted Aug 27th 2009 12:29PM
Arrested DevelopmentIt's been a while since we heard any news about that Arrested Development movie that might be happening, might not be happening, was being written, was being thought about, etc. Now comes word from Jason Bateman that the movie is still a go and it's still being written as we speak.

Bateman tells Collider.com that Mitch Hurwitz is still writing the script, and once that's done they have to get the scheduling of the filming down (which won't be easy with so many cast members).

I didn't even realize there WAS an Arrested Development documentary

Yup, there's an Arrested Development documentary, and the trailer is below. I didn't even know this film was coming out, but it looks like it's the ultimate drug for hardcore AD fans (at least until the movie comes out). Besides the cast and crew being interviewed, we also see comments from people like Andy Richter, Keith Olbermann, and many other fans.
