Barbara Walters Offers Kissing Practice to Michael Douglas on 'The View'On 'The View' (weekdays, syndicated), Michael Douglas, who is set to play Liberace in an upcoming biopic, explained how co-star Matt Damon is readying for their inevitable kissing scenes. And Barbara Walters had an inventive idea for how Douglas himself could prepare.

Damon will play Liberace's lover, and has said he plans on using creative visualization in scenes where he and Douglas lock lips. "Matt said, 'Listen. Here's the way I look at it. When I kiss Michael Douglas, it's algebra. I'm kissing Michael Douglas and I'm going through him and I'm kissing his wife, Catherine Zeta-Jones,'" Douglas explained, leaning closely toward Walters.

Michael Douglas on Catherine Zeta-Jones' Bipolar Disorder (VIDEO)

by Nick Zaino, posted Apr 26th 2011 6:00PM
Michael Douglas on 'The Oprah Winfrey Show'Michael Douglas has had his share of problems lately, not the least of which was throat cancer. He appears to have beaten that, but today on 'The Oprah Winfrey Show' (weekdays, syndicated), he spoke of the latest hardship to befall his family. Catherine Zeta-Jones, Douglas's wife, was recently diagnosed with bipolar disorder, which, like Douglas's cancer, has become tabloid fodder.

Zeta-Jones was a source of strength for Douglas through his health struggles, possibly to the detriment of her own health. Douglas seemed to indicate that Zeta-Jones, though discussing the diagnosis openly now, was reluctant to focus on herself earlier. "My oldest son is in federal prison, my ex-wife is suing me, and I got cancer," said Douglas. "It's kinda hard for the wife to say, 'I'm depressed.'"

Zeta-Jones is reported to suffer from bipolar II, a form of the disorder that Douglas said does not feature mania as strongly as its more serious counterpart, but leans heavily toward depression.

Michael Douglas Presents at the Golden Globes and Receives a Standing Ovation (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Jan 17th 2011 1:58AM
Michael Douglas, 'The 68th Annual Golden Globe Awards'Michael Douglas, who is currently cancer-free after a recent struggle with advanced stage IV throat cancer, received a very touching standing ovation when he appeared at 'The 68th Annual Golden Globe Awards' (Sun., 8PM on NBC). He was on hand to present the last award of the night.

When Douglas was announced, he strode confidently on stage. He still looked notably thinner than usual, but was otherwise happy and clearly humbled by the response. For nearly a full minute, the crowd of who's who in Hollywood were on their feet in praise of his strength, resilience and importance to their chosen medium.

Repeating "Thank you" over and again, Douglas tried to calm the crowd. We began to wonder if the orchestra might play him off just to keep the show in under time, even though he wasn't an award winner.

Michael just completed his first week of radiation and chemotherapy -- doctors now put his chances of recovery at 80% or better, which is great news.

Jane Leeves Gets a Little Catty About Catherine Zeta-Jones (VIDEO)

by Oliver Miller, posted Jul 22nd 2010 8:40PM
Jane Leeves Gets a Little Catty About Catherine Zeta-Jones'Hot in Cleveland' star Jane Leeves was the guest on 'The Kilborn File' (weeknights, 7PM ET on Fox). While she was on the show, Leeves took the opportunity to unleash a little cattiness against Catherine Zeta-Jones. Ooh! We like it! A little British actress vs. British actress fight!

Craig Kilborn told Leeves that he had once read that she was the highest-paid English actress. " ... Well, that's what they're saying," Jane replied. "But that would be a bit sad wouldn't it, really? I'm sure, like, Catherine Zeta-Jones has outdone me." Then, Leeves paused for half a second. " ... Although she's going to have to probably wait a few years for that money."

"Was that a reference to divorcing someone?" Kilborn asked.

"No, no, no, no, no, no, no," Jane said.

This was, in fact, a fairly subtle burn, which referred to the fact that Zeta-Jones is currently married to Michael Douglas. And Douglas' divorce from his previous wife was one of the most expensive in Hollywood history -- costing him an estimated $45 million, not including the two houses that he had to give to his ex-wife.

Michael Douglas Slept with Mom's FriendsMichael Douglas's wife Catherine Zeta-Jones may be 25 years his junior, but he hasn't always gone for younger women, he revealed on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live' (weeknights, 12:05AM ET on ABC). Granted, it's difficult to go young, when you're in your teens.

"When you were that age, a teenager, did you ever date older women?" Jimmy Kimmel asked the 'Solitary Man' star.

"I didn't date them but ... there were a couple of friends of my mother's ... which my mother just found out about 50 years later."

A tabloid reporter showed up on her doorstep. Um, awkward.
