Olympic champion Michael Johnson bowed out of the 'Celebrity Apprentice' (Sun., 9PM on NBC) competition last night.

Johnson didn't divulge many details, but told Donald Trump he was leaving the show for personal reasons involving his son.

"What's the problem, are you fighting with the wife?" Trump asked. "It's just a personal issue," Johnson said. The Olympian seemed hopeful that he'd be able to return, but the Donald shot that down citing the unfairness to other contestants.

It's a time-honored tradition in the world of TV: a celebrity goes on a game show or reality contest, playing for his or her favorite charity. Then, instead of buckling down and trying his or her hardest to get as much money as possible for that charity, they laugh and joke as they either go down in flames on the show, or -- even worse -- don't look like they're even trying.

The latest case of this happened on last week's 'Celebrity Apprentice.' And, with the next episode set to air tonight, I wanted to talk about why the results from last week got me so annoyed.

Did baseball legend Darryl Strawberry choose to take one for the team on 'Celebrity Apprentice' (Sun., 9PM ET on NBC), or did he simply give up?

Though Olympian Michael Johnson was responsible for Team Rocksolid's loss, Strawberry told Donald Trump, "I'd rather take the hit." The Donald was skeptical.

Fired up for a new season of 'The Celebrity Apprentice'? Fourteen celebs -- of varying levels of celebrity-dom -- are working for a bonus of $250,000 to be donated to a charity of their choice. And maybe a chance to spark up a little interest in their careers, too.

Business mogul Donald Trump will do the firing once again, aided by son Donald Trump Jr., daughter Ivanka Trump and long-time adviser George H. Ross on this third season of 'Celebrity Apprentice.' The teams, incidentally, are divided by sex.

The action starts 9 PM ET Sunday on NBC. Before then, we've studied the field and calibrated who the likely winner will be.
