Robert Wagner Cuffed on 'NCIS' as LA Cops Say He's Not a Suspect in Wife's Death

by Catherine Lawson, posted Nov 21st 2011 8:25AM
Last week the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Dept. announced they are re-examining the drowning death of movie star Natalie Wood. The news led to frenzied speculation as to whether her husband, actor Robert Wagner, would now be named a suspect in her death, which has always been shrouded in mystery.

At a press conference Friday, a sheriff's spokesman told reporters that Wagner is not a suspect. "Her death was ruled an accident, an accidental drowing. And that's what it is. If, at the end of it, our investigation points to something else, then we'll address that."

However, over the last few days CBS viewers could have been forgiven for being rather confused about Wagner's status because he keeps appearing on screen in handcuffs. That's because, in a collision of art and life, the network's been promoting tomorrow night's episode of 'NCIS,' in which his character is accused of murder. After being asked if they'd considered postponing the episode, a CBS source told The Wrap that it "is running as scheduled."

'NCIS' Star Michael Weatherly Set to Make his Directorial Debut

by Catherine Lawson, posted Nov 29th 2010 8:45AM

Michael Weatherly will be in charge on the 'NCIS' set later on this season when he makes his directorial debut on an episode of the procedural drama. And he says his co-stars are "terrified" at the prospect.

Although no details of the episode have yet been forthcoming, Weatherly told tvguide.com that he expects to be at the helm in January, and that the crew may document the experience for inclusion on the upcoming Season 8 DVD.

"I like cameras and I like sets and the surgical nature of make believe that happens -- the whole process," Weatherly said. "I love all aspects of production, and I have a great deal of respect for the whole craft. I'm really excited about directing; it's an extension of my curiosity about film and TV."

'NCIS's' Michael Weatherly Talks Contracts, Season Finales and More

by Allison Waldman, posted May 10th 2010 11:02AM
michael_weatherly_ncis_tuxedoMichael Weatherly is one of the most popular actors on CBS, playing agent Anthony DiNozzo on the hit series 'NCIS' ... and happy to be doing so. However, as of this writing, Weatherly is not signed for next season, a fact that has many fans worried about Mark Harmon's wise-cracking, movie-reference spouting sidekick. Despite the limbo, Michael Weatherly talks like a man who's returning to the fold, and as you'll see, he's sharing some crucial information about the season finale on May 25.

What's the current status of your contract?
I am still optimistic. I assume that there are people working very hard at making sure I'm back next season.

The fans don't want the team broken up ...
I think the thing that makes 'NCIS' so special is the team and the group. And there's our fearless leader, Mark Harmon. We all really enjoy working together, so it would be a shame if we weren't all there having fun together. But I'm not in charge of everything. I'm just eager and excited to show up and do the work. This has been the fastest seven years of my life.

Props to 'NCIS' star Michael Weatherly for pulling off a move on 'The Early Show' (weekdays, 7AM ET on CBS) that we've only been able to dream of. Weatherly channels Mark Harmon's character Jethro Gibbs from 'NCIS' and smacks anchor Harry Smith in the back of the head.

Weatherly's character, Tony DiNozzo, regularly receives head smacks from Gibbs on the show, an action that has come to be known as a "Gibbs-slap" by fans.

Agent DiNozzo Chats Up Prostitute on 'NCIS' (VIDEO)

by Aimee Deeken, posted Apr 7th 2010 5:25AM
Agent DiNozzo Goes Under Cover on 'NCIS'When a prostitute is connected to the death of a Navy officer, the investigators of 'NCIS' (Tue., 9PM ET on CBS) enlist Special Agent Tony DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly) to go under cover as one of her clients.

"Guess you're not room service, huh?" he says awkwardly, just before she slaps him. (Gulp.) "It's fun to watch," says Holly Snow (Dina Meyer) from a nearby room, recruited by the NCIS gang to relay the perfect call-girl code words into DiNozzo's earpiece.

By the end of the set-up, somebody needs a cold shower.

Review: 'NCIS' - 'Masquerade'

by Allison Waldman, posted Feb 3rd 2010 2:00AM
As the title suggests, what we witnessed going on for much of this episode was not reality, but a 'Masquerade.' If you pay attention to titles, you can have an edge figuring out what's what. Meanwhile, beyond the action, there was more character interaction as 'NCIS' continues to weave a few mystery threads, including M. Allison Hart's fascination with Mr. Gibbs.

Review: NCIS - Jet Lag

by Allison Waldman, posted Jan 27th 2010 12:45AM
ziva_tony_NCIS_jet_lag(S07E13) So there they were in Paris -- Tony and Ziva. The situation was ripe for romance, right? Was NCIS finally going to "go there" and let fans have a Moonlighting moment for their favorite characters?

Not so fast. Before you could say Champs Elysees, the two were boarding a jet at Charles de Gaulle airport to complete an assignment that turned into murder in the air. Fortunately, the mystery on the airliner trumped the one on the ground and made for a good episode.

Review: NCIS - Flesh and Blood

by Allison Waldman, posted Jan 13th 2010 1:42AM
I had been really looking forward to this episode of NCIS ever since it was announced that Tony's dad -- the original Tony DiNozzo, Sr. -- would be on and played by veteran TV star Robert Wagner (Hart to Hart). Well, it was not a disappointment. Other than the fact that the mystery involving a couple of Saudi princes wasn't very complicated, it was a really good show. Michael Weatherly on His 'NCIS' TV Dad, Robert Wagner

by Michael Maloney, posted Jan 12th 2010 8:00AM
NCIS Robert Wagner'NCIS' fans know Michael Weatherly as charming goofball/special agent Tony DiNozzo but on the series' 150th episode tonight on CBS, viewers will learn that beneath those jokes lie memories of a painful childhood -- and unresolved feelings towards his father. Robert Wagner (aka R.J.) guest stars as Tony's dad, Anthony Sr.

In a sense, working with Wagner was deja vu all over again for Weatherly; he portrayed the 'Hart to Hart' star and movie heartthrob in 'The Mystery of Natalie Wood', the made for TV movie about Wagner's late movie star wife. Weatherly recently chatted with AOL about sharing air time with the screen legend and gave a preview of the 'NCIS' episode that sheds new light on Tony.

NCIS casts Tony's dad... and he's someone you know

by Allison Waldman, posted Nov 3rd 2009 9:33AM
NCIS_Tony_McGeeThere's good casting and then there's great casting. NCIS has had a propensity for great casting when it comes to the father's of the core characters. Michael Nouri has been spot on as Ziva's autocratic Israeli father. Ralph Waite was a surprising, but superb, choice as Jethro's down to earth father.

Now, we've just heard the news that there's another pop coming to NCIS.

If you haven't read about the famous TV star chosen and you don't want to know about it, please, don't read any further. However, if you can handle casting without feeling like the story lines are spoiled, follow after the jump.

'NCIS' Soundtrack Features Music from Bob Dylan, Michael Weatherly

by Michael D. Ayers, posted Oct 15th 2009 7:35PM
Bob DylanCBS's hit series 'NCIS' is gearing up for another soundtrack collection, featuring a host of popular artists such as Bob Dylan, Norah Jones, Sheryl Crow and Joss Stone. Due out November 3, the 12-song set also features 'Bitter and Blue,' a new song by 'NCIS' star Michael Weatherly.

As with the first soundtrack, the music will be used in upcoming episodes throughout this season.

Of special note on 'Volume 2' is the track by Bob Dylan. For the first volume, he contributed the song 'Things Have Changed'; but this time around, Dylan's giving the show -- and his fans -- something entirely new. To coincide with the soundtrack's release, the Nov. 3 episode will feature the Dylan original 'California,' which is an unreleased track from the 'Bring It Back Home' sessions.

NCIS: Aliyah (season finale) - open thread

by Bob Sassone, posted May 20th 2009 9:01AM
NCISAnd so ends the sixth season of NCIS. For some reason, I didn't think the show would even last one season, but sometimes a show just surprises you with how strong it does in the ratings. If anything, the show has gotten stronger as the years have gone on. It survived the departure of its creator and has hung around long enough to spawn a spinoff this fall, with Chris O'Donnell and LL Cool J. No name for that show yet. Any ideas? They'll probably think of something with an "NCIS" and a ":" in it.
