Michael E. Knight Discusses the 'All My Children Finale' (VIDEO)
by Alex Moaba, posted Sep 28th 2011 5:30PM
Michael E. Knight, who played Tad Martin on 'All My Children,' dropped by 'The Talk' (weekdays, syndicated on CBS) to do some cooking and discuss the beloved soap's TV finale. "I got to give the requiem speech, which I loved. It was a farewell to friends and family and stuff, and I was very happy about that," he told guest-hosts Kris Jenner and Aisha Tyler."I love the fact that I'm here cooking today, because they replaced us with a cooking show," Knight joked. He also said he was happy 'AMC' founder Agnes Nixon and some of the show's older characters got to appear in the finale.
Knight, much like fellow 'AMC' star Susan Lucci, has not yet signed on for the soap's online version, which will air in 2012.
Cady McClain returning to All My Children
by Allison Waldman, posted Jan 13th 2010 8:33PM
Daytime soaps have always had a sketchy history when it comes to life and death. In short, like science fiction and fantasy, death is not a finality. Soap characters can return from the dead, not really have been dead at all, reappear as missing twins, turn out to have been victim of a coffin switch, and if all else fails, death become a way to bring a character back as a ghost or guardian angel. All that is part of Soaps 101, a college course taught at most universities today, I believe. That was a long introduction to reveal that fan fave and multiple Emmy winner Cady McClain is returning to All My Children. Cady was more recently on As the World Turns as Rosanna, but left about a month ago when her story line wrapped. That means she was free to sign up with another soap and ABC came a callin' for the actress.
Rachael Ray to Host 'All My Children' Yard Sale
by Michael Maloney, posted Nov 18th 2009 8:00AM
'All My Children' is moving its production from New York to Los Angeles in January -- but not everything is coming with it.In what may be every soap-lover's fantasy, the show has decided to host a yard sale to clear out some old inventory. The sale will be held this Monday, Nov. 23 from 11AM to 3PM at the Rachael Ray Studio.
Attendees take note: Ray's talk show will be taping the garage sale for a segment that will air on a future episode -- so, in other words, if you're there to buy one of Billy Clyde Tuggle's pimp hats, be prepared to have your friends and family find out about it.
Proceeds will benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. To obtain a ticket, contact Karina at 917-332-3188. Cash and credit will be accepted.
