Bored of the Holidays Already? Knit Your Own 'The Killing' Sweater!

by Catherine Lawson, posted Nov 25th 2011 6:50AM
Danish television series 'The Killing' (a.k.a. 'Forbrydelsen') and AMC's remake, also called 'The Killing,' have more than a few things in common apart from the plot: Crabby expressions and those sweaters. In fact, the sweaters are such an integral part of the drama that we think it's about time they got co-starring credits.

Pay attention all you 'Killing' fans who are stuffed to the gills with turkey and want nothing more than to wrap yourself in comfy knitwear and sit sour-faced in front of the TV for the rest of the weekend: You can now do it Sarah Lund/Linden-style.

Whether you want to buy their sweaters from the Faroe Islands, or knit them yourself, we guarantee that all will be revealed after the jump.

Review: 'The Killing' Is a Gripping Murder Mystery Worth Following

by Maureen Ryan, posted Apr 1st 2011 10:00AM
It's rare for a new program to demonstrate as much confidence as 'The Killing' (9PM Sunday, AMC) does in its excellent opening hours.

Maybe that's because the show has, in a sense, done this before: The AMC drama is based on a wildly popular Danish murder-mystery titled 'Forbryldelsen.'

But there's more to it than that: 'The Killing' simply trusts its audience to follow along. It trusts that it doesn't need fake melodrama or overheated intrigue to keep its audience's interest.

Like most AMC dramas, this enthralling murder mystery knows that a taciturn lead character and an unfamiliar world can keep viewers' attention if that world and the people in it are created with exceptional attention to detail.

EXCLUSIVE: Sneak Peek of AMC's New Murder-Mystery Drama 'The Killing' (VIDEO)

by Maggie Furlong, posted Mar 1st 2011 9:00AM
Mireille Enos, AMC's 'The Killing'In their grand -- albeit still fairly new -- tradition of featuring powerful dramatic series, AMC has a new murder-mystery show to add to their critically-acclaimed, award-winning lineup, which includes 'Mad Men,' 'Breaking Bad' and 'The Walking Dead.'

'The Killing,' based on a popular Danish series (called 'Forbrydelsen,' if anyone wants to track down, translate and spoil it) follows the investigation of a young girl's murder in Seattle.

The 13 one-hour episodes of season 1 (two-hour premiere Sun., April 3, 9PM ET) tell the stories of the police detectives assigned to the murder, the victim's distraught family and the suspects in the case. There are also quite a few political elements at play and, as the show's description teases, "there are no accidents" and "everyone has a secret."

'Big Love's' Mireille Enos to Make a 'Killing'

by Allyssa Lee, posted Apr 22nd 2010 1:00PM
Send out an APB, because Mireille Enos ('Big Love') is set to make 'The Killing.' AMC has just announced that it has cast the 'Big Love' actress as the lead in their new drama pilot.

Based on the Danish series 'Forbrydelsen,' 'The Killing' tracks three different storylines after the murder of a young Seattle girl: the detectives on the case; the grieving parents; and the murder suspects. Enos will play Sarah, the lead homicide detective on the investigation. She will join the already-cast Billy Campbell ('Once and Again'), as city council president and mayoral hopeful Darren Richmond, and Michelle Forbes ('True Blood') and Brent Sexton ('In the Valley of Elah') as the victim's parents.
