What to Watch Friday, Dec. 19

Zac Efron'The E! True Hollywood Story -- Young Hollywood: A to Zac'
(8PM, E!)
Never-before-seen footage of Zac Efron playing Snoopy in a school production of 'You're a Good Man Charlie Brown'? Tales of the Jonas Brothers' playground flirtations? Home footage of Taylor Swift singing 'Twinkle Twinkle Little Star' as a toddler?

It's teen-tastic, and all a part of E!'s two-hour special on the under-21 set who rule the tube, the music scene and the big screen.

All the usual suspects -- which, of course, also includes the ubiquitous Miley Cyrus -- are covered, via exclusive footage, interviews and tales from those who knew them before they were famous ... and earning more as children than most of us will make in our lifetimes. Hooray for Young Hollywood.

What to Watch Monday, Nov. 24

by Kim Potts, posted Nov 24th 2008 5:00AM
Samantha Who and Boston Legal'Samantha Who?' and 'Boston Legal'
(9:30PM and 10PM, ABC)
Guess who's coming to dinner?

At the Newly home, it's Samantha's new boyfriend Owen, who's going to get to know Sam's 'rents during a family meal. But Owen gets a case of foot-in-mouth disease when he meets Sam's dad -- a chicken farm owner -- and makes disparaging remarks about chicken farm owners.

Meanwhile, it's about turkeys on 'Boston Legal,' when Shirley plans a cozy Thanksgiving dinner for herself and Carl, but instead -- and here's where the turkeys come in -- ends up hosting a dysfunctional pseudo-family affair when Alan and Denny and the office gang want in on the festivities, too.

gossip girl'Gossip Girl '
(8PM, The CW)
Poor Dan Humphrey ... guess he hasn't read the 'Gossip Girl' books, because if he had, he'd know that the new rich kid on the block is one Aaron Rose, destined to be the next boy toy on the arm of one Serena van der Woodsen.

Of course, in the books, Dan is also bisexual, so the TV series will probably never be 100 percent faithful to the book series, but it is true that Aaron ('Stick It' star John Patrick Amedori) is Serena's new Dan.

Meanwhile, Humphrey kid Jenny makes a new friend in the rebellious Agnes, who convinces Little J that she needs to make a bold move with her fashion career, lest Blair's mom squash it before it even begins.

Modern Marvels fans pick episodes for marathon

by Adam Finley, posted Jul 16th 2007 7:03PM

modern marvelsModern Marvels, the long-running History Channel series that explores all kinds of scientific and technological feats and where they came from, is asking viewers to choose their favorite episodes for a marathon airing July 28 starting at noon (winners will be announced the day before). Viewers can go here and choose their eight favorite episodes from a list of episodes that cover topics such as 80s tech, brewing, horsepower, snackfood and harvesting. The site also features clips from the episodes. Yeah, there's only twenty episodes to choose from, which doesn't seem like much since the series has been on for over ten years, but I don't think fans will complain.

Modern Marvels began in 1994 and is narrated by Max Raphael.

Starting July 30, Modern Marvels will air every weeknight at 8:00 p.m.
