Monday night schedule

Here's tonight's lineup of new shows and events (all times Eastern). Check your local TV listings for additional information.

With all of the shows coming and going this month I'm going to start putting them at the top of this listing. Let me know if it works for all of you.

National Geographic WILD: 'Swamp Men' -- 10:00 start
TLC: 'Best Food Ever' at 9:00 and 'Ultimate Chili Challenge' at 10:00

Since 1970 the NFL has aired nearly 600 matchups on Monday night, and the broadcasts' consistently stellar ratings have made 'Monday Night Football' one of primetime television's all-time most successful shows. The 2009 season marks the live sports showcase's 40th anniversary -- and to help you celebrate, we've got your complete schedule of all this year's Monday Night matchups and results. The only question is, are you ready for some football?

Of course, if you work on the new show The Class, the word "slightly" might not be appropriate here.

CBS was going to move How I Met Your Mother to Mondays at 8pm, and put the new show The Class (about a group of third grade kids who reunite when they're older) into the 8:30 slot, so it gets a good lead from HIMYM (I'm tired of typing that out all the time) and sandwiched between that show and Two and a Half Men. But now they've changed their minds. They're keeping HIMYM at 8:30, and putting The Class at 8, which means that a new show is going to have to lead off the night for CBS.

A risky move. They must really have confidence in The Class.
