Gorse, O'Dell Among Rumored Candidates to Replace Samantha Harris

by Laura Prudom, posted Feb 11th 2010 5:00PM
The revolving door of reality stars just keeps on spinning; whether it's 'American Idol' or 'Dancing With the Stars,' the hosts and judges seem to fascinate us almost as much as the contestants. Over the past few weeks, speculation has been running rampant regarding a replacement for effervescent 'DWTS' host Samantha Harris; we've even made a few suggestions ourselves.

But the latest news according to E! Online hints that the decision over a new host may not be far off. Rumors indicate that two potential candidates may be 'E! News' correspondent Ashlan Gorse and former 'Access Hollywood' anchor Nancy O'Dell.

Did Billy Bush Cause Nancy O'Dell's 'Access Hollywood' Departure?

by AOL TV Staff, posted Dec 21st 2009 12:20PM
Billy BushWith Nancy O'Dell's swift exit from 'Access Hollywood,' lots were left wondering why she left the popular show. If one new report is true, a key reason could be her apparently tense relationship with co-host Billy Bush.

In a report from the NY Daily News, an insider claims that "the atmosphere at 'Access Hollywood' is like walking on a landmine because of Billy," and that his behavior caused O'Dell to leave the job she's been at since 1996.

Nancy O'Dell decides to exit Access Hollywood

by Allison Waldman, posted Dec 18th 2009 10:34AM
access_hollywood_nancy_odellWell, apparently Nancy O'Dell doesn't have the same ailment that has kept Mary Hart glued to the chair on Entertainment Tonight. In a shocking announcement, Access Hollywood host Nancy O'Dell is leaving the show, effective immediately. In fact, she may not be on today's broadcast.

The story is still be sorted out, but it seems that Nancy is walking away from the last two years on her contract for a better job somewhere else. Her PR rep said, "[She] has chosen to leave the show after 13 years. ...Even though she will be leaving for a new opportunity, this decision is based totally on Nancy's desire to take her career to the next level and is completely amicable. She will continue on with projects as a broadcast entertainment journalist."

Dancing with the Stars celebrity updates

by Michael Pascua, posted Mar 27th 2009 5:18PM
Holly MadisonOther than injuries plaguing most of the contestants, there are a few issues still making the celebrity dancing competition complicated on Dancing with the Stars. I love the fact that Denise is confused that she was eliminated. It's not like she was even top tier of dancers (Shawn, Gilles, Melissa, and Lil Kym), or even the middle pack (David, Ty, Lawrence, and Chuck). She was in the bottom heat with Steve-O, the Woz, and Holly. If I were the other three, I'd practice hard and hope I wasn't double eliminated.

Also, as a minor update, along with the opening credits finally being used, the pictures of Holly and Melissa have been update to match the rest of the contestants on the official website. No longer the really bad Photoshop job plaguing the contestant's page. It doesn't exactly match the other contestant's photos, but it's better than nothing. More news after the jump.

Will The Bachelor's Melissa go from dumped to Dancing?

by Michael Pascua, posted Mar 8th 2009 8:42PM
Melissa RycroftClose sources have been throwing the rumor that Melissa Rycroft will be replacing Nancy O'Dell on Dancing with the Stars. Although there aren't any official statements from ABC about Rycroft (or about Holly Madison replacing Jewel), it seems very plausible. I'm under the assumption that Toni Dovolani will be her professional partner. If the name doesn't ring a bell, Melissa was a contestant on the most recent version of The Bachelor.

The replacement news seemed quite obvious for ABC. Think about it: What's the best way for ABC to replace a contestant last minute? Pick someone in their own pool. I was hoping for a Disney Channel star, someone from Pushing Daisies, yet another soap star, or at least someone that could be considered more of a "celebrity."

I'm not expecting much from Melissa, especially with Trista, the original Bachelorette, being eliminated first in Season One. Granted, there were only six contestants that season. Melissa is already behind the eight ball since she has less time to practice than everyone else and she probably has a smaller fan base than the rest of the celebrities.
