'Buffy' Creator Joss Whedon Wraps Secret Movie Starring Nathan Fillion, Amy Acker, Alexis Denisof
by Catherine Lawson, posted Oct 24th 2011 7:15AM
If you've ever wondered what 'Castle' star Nathan Fillion does on his days off, wonder no more. He apparently makes movies in secret with his erstwhile 'Firefly' boss, Joss Whedon.According to 'The Wrap,' Whedon adapted, cast and filmed a new indie version of William Shakespeare's 'Much Ado About Nothing' this summer without anyone finding out until after it was finished.
A website went up Sunday night announcing that principal photography has been completed on the guerrilla filmmaking project, which is lightheartedly described as "A Film by Joss Whedon Based on a Play."
The cast is a veritable smorgasbord of Whedon faves: As well as Fillion there's Amy Acker and Alexis Denisof from 'Angel' and 'Dollhouse,' and Sean Maher ('Firefly'). Although it could all be an elaborate hoax, we're already loving the idea of Acker and Denisof re-teaming to tackle the roles of reluctant lovers Beatrice and Benedick.

You could just hear the voices in Castle's head during this episode of 'Castle.' Did I miss my chance? Should I have put the moves on Beckett by now? What is wrong with me?!

Tom Bergeron: A Man's Guest Spot Is His 'Castle'
by Michael Maloney, posted Apr 9th 2010 9:07PM
'Dancing With the Stars' main man Tom Bergeron is playing Bobby Mann -- a late night talk show host who gets canceled permanently on the April 12 episode of 'Castle,' which airs on ABC immediately after the 'DWTS' two-hour performance show. It's up to series star Nathan Fillion and his TV detective partner, played by Stana Katic, to find out who killed Bobby. AOL spoke with Bergeron, who weighed in on 'Castle,' the current -- and arguably most-talked about -- cast of 'Dancing With the Stars,' and how he handles those pesky TMZ.com interviews.

(S02E19) "If something happens to me, I want you to look out for Alexis ... Would you also go into my closet and get rid of my porn collection before she finds it?" - Castle to Beckett
This was sort of an odd episode of 'Castle,' in that it seemed like it was either filmed before the drama of the past two weeks (Beckett nearly died! Castle invited her to move in!), or they're simply back-burnering that storyline. Either way, it was kind of a funny episode with lots of great lines from Castle. That's true of every episode, though. The writing is great.
Mummy Killer on 'Castle' (VIDEO)
by Oliver Miller, posted Apr 6th 2010 2:50AM
An ancient mummy on the loose in the streets of New York City? Yes, okay, it does sound like the plot of a 'Scooby-Doo' episode. But it also happens to be the plot of the most recent episode of 'Castle' (Mon., 10PM ET on ABC). Novelist turned crime-fighter Richard Castle (Nathan Fillion) investigates the murder of a museum curator, along with his partner Kate Beckett (Stana Katic). And soon, they begin to suspect that something very weird is going on.Watch the video after the jump.
ABC Renews 'Castle' for A New Season
by Allison Waldman, posted Mar 31st 2010 10:03AM
A week ago with 'Dancing With the Stars' returned for the current season, a new episode of 'Castle' aired afterwards and did something it had never done before. It beat 'CSI: Miami' in the ratings. Not a rerun of 'CSI: Miami.' No, it was a fresh, Horatio Cane dealing with his son episode. Now, normally, that's a slam dunk for CBS. However, 'Castle' took the hour. This is all a way to explain the following: ABC has renewed 'Castle' for another season. ABC is not just jumping on a strong pairing of 'Dancing' and 'Castle,' because you can't count on that always being the best draw of a Monday night.
'Castle' Renewed for Third Season
by Laura Prudom, posted Mar 30th 2010 4:00PM
It looks as though Nathan Fillion will remain king of ABC's 'Castle' -- at least for another season.According to The Wrap, the slow-but-steady building procedural has earned an early third season renewal from the alphabet network, which will come as a welcome surprise to loyal fans previously concerned about its on-the-bubble status.
Season 3 will run for 22 episodes.
Ratings seemed lackluster last year, but ABC -- in a rare move for a major network -- stuck with the show and ordered a second season despite the shaky start, a move that clearly paid off when 'Castle' started conquering 'CSI: Miami' in the 10PM Monday time slot.
Nathan Fillion Fires a Gun on 'Castle' (VIDEO)
by Jane Boursaw, posted Mar 30th 2010 2:03AM
There were a few high points in this week's 'Castle' (Mon., 10PM ET on ABC). Not only did Beckett survive her apartment blowing to smithereens last week, but she also nabbed the killer and saved Agent Shaw. But our favorite part was seeing Castle actually fire a gun AND shoot the bad guy's gun out of his freakin' hand. Wonder if he'll want more of that adrenaline rush, now that he's had a taste of it.

Castle Races to Save Beckett ... and Fails? (VIDEO)
by Chris Harnick, posted Mar 23rd 2010 12:45PM
The tension between Castle and Beckett on 'Castle' (Mon. 10PM EST on ABC) has been known to get a little bit heated, but this week, things got explosive. Literally.Thinking the serial killer that was targeting her had been caught, the frantic phone call from Castle surprised not only us, but also Detective Beckett. Was Castle too late to save his Nikki Heat inspiration?
Like the rest of us, you'll have to tune in next week to find out.

'Castle' - 'Tick, Tick, Tick...' Recap

(S02E17) "There's an app for that?" - Castle to Jordan Shaw, on her fingerprint appTonight's episode of 'Castle' was the first of a two-parter, and some pretty big stuff happened. If you haven't seen it yet, I'll wait til after the jump to talk about the major spoilers.
One thing I can talk about before the jump is Dana Delany. It was really awesome to see her in a meatier role than her 'Desperate Housewives' character. Ever since 'China Beach,' I've been waiting for her to get a really good role and hopefully, her new ABC pilot 'Body of Evidence' will be just that.
I know she's had plenty of roles since 'China,' but nothing that's equaled it in my mind. What can I say? I live in the past. She also played Magnum's girlfriend, so there.
'Castle' - 'The Mistress Always Spanks Twice' Recap
by Kona Gallagher, posted Mar 9th 2010 9:45AM

(S02E16) Nathan Fillion really dug deep into his repertoire of cheesy faces for this episode, didn't he? His reactions to some of the naughtier things were so over-the-top that they went from funny, to lame, and then circled back around to hilarious.
There was a lot to like about this episode, whether or not you enjoyed the many faces of Fillion. There was a large suspect pool, plenty of twists, and best of all, two stars from beloved teen dramas. Hudson University has the best PhD program ever (if you overlook the fact that you're likely to be murdered there). Where else could you go for your degree with both Brian Krakow from 'My So-Called Life' and Lane Kim from 'Gilmore Girls?' Granted, this didn't work out so well for Jessica, as Brian Krakow's (or "Matt's," as it were) jealousy led to the exposure of her double-life and eventual murder, but still. How fun!
Nathan Fillion Recalls Singing Telegram Job on 'The View' (VIDEO)
by Donald Deane, posted Mar 1st 2010 4:00PM
Nathan Fillion of 'Castle' recalled a job he had delivering singing telegrams while dressed as Tarzan on 'The View' (weekdays, syndicated). And, he said, his costume allowed him to get away with all sorts of bad behavior. "You'd be amazed what you can get away with dressed as Tarzan," Fillion said. "I remember one [job] was at a police department ... I remember going through a metal detector and it goes off, but nobody cares, because you're dressed like Tarzan."

'Castle' - 'Suicide Squeeze' Recap

(S02E15) First of all, those stilettos Beckett had on were awesome. I'm not saying that so much as a girl crush, but as more of a 'Sex and the City' sort of style thing. Her mullet seems to have calmed down a little, and overall, I'm liking her style (though I'm still on the fence about her jacket pictured above). Girlfriends, what say you about the jacket?!
Review: Castle - The Third Man
by Kona Gallagher, posted Jan 26th 2010 12:20AM

(S02E14) Well, this was certainly a complex episode. There were so many twists and turns, that it was hard to keep up at times. What made it even more interesting is the fact that the entire episode was riddled with weird (though not unenjoyable) sitcom cliches. At the end of the episode, I learned two things: I would really like my next job title to be "gentleman squatter," and Castle and Beckett are in loooove.
I'm not in the camp that thinks Castle and Beckett getting together automatically means the series is doomed, but I'm not exactly waiting for the inevitable hook-up with bated breath. However, if they keep throwing their love for each other in our faces like they've been doing recently, then it's going to get pretty difficult to not spend most of the hour sitting in front of my TV yelling, "You're both pretty! Just do it and move on!"

(S02E13) "Now I own a boat!" - Castle, mimicking a late-night infomercial guy
This episode of Castle was really fun (as usual), until we learned that the killer was connected with the murder of Beckett's mother. Then things got intense really fast. And she nearly had the whole thing wrapped up in the palm of her hand, until ... she didn't. But maybe she's a little closer to solving that murder.
