by AOL TV Staff, posted Dec 12th 2011 12:00PM
Nolan Ross on 'Revenge' & Schmidt on 'New Girl'What do Nolan from 'Revenge' and Schmidt, the self-proclaimed ladies man on 'New Girl,' have in common?

Yeah, they can both get a little smarmy, and Nolan could probably fill a Douchebag Jar faster than most with his conniving ways. But they're also two of our 11 in '11 best scene-stealing men on TV.

This list is filled with epic examples of how to be a co-star. Yes, these 11 men may not be top-billed on their respective shows, but it's safe to say those shows wouldn't be the same without them.

Who made the cut? Click into our gallery to see, and share your own nominees in the comments.

Jess Tries to Unleash Her Inner Bad Girl For Sex on 'New Girl' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Dec 7th 2011 12:30AM
'New Girl' - 'Bad in Bed'It's been six years since Jess has been intimate with any man other than her ex-boyfriend, and he wound up cheating on her. So it's completely understandable that she would be nervous about going to that level with her new boyfriend on 'New Girl' (Tue., 9PM ET on FOX).

Justin Long continues to be a great relationship foil for Jess, as he's nearly as awkward and uncomfortable as she is. But nothing beats Jess sporting that strange spiderweb outfit over her bra and panties.

That it was so clearly not her, and neither one of them really knew what to do with it, spoke volumes about who they are as people. And they are not that, though he adorably thought she was.

New Girl Ryan Kwanten'True Blood' star Ryan Kwanten is sinking his teeth into a romantic role on Fox's hit comedy 'New Girl.'

According to E! Online, Kwanten will appear in the Valentine's Day episode. Warning, spoilers ahead.

It's the first Valentine's Day for newly single Jess (Zooey Deschanel) and she drags Schmidt (Max Greenfield) out to a bar to be her wingman. That's where Kwanten's character, Oliver, enters the picture.

The 'True Blood' star is just one of many familiar faces making a stop on one of this year's best new comedies.

'New Girl' Stars Dish on Jess' Love Life and the Roommates' Future (EXCLUSIVE CLIP)

by Maureen Ryan, posted Dec 5th 2011 12:30PM
It didn't take long for 'New Girl' to establish itself as the fall's most solid (and charming) hit, and Zooey Deschanel's lead character, Jess, also wasted no time in finding herself an equally dorky love interest.

In Tuesday's episode of the Fox comedy, Jess has decided to sleep with her new boyfriend, Paul (Justin Long), but she's worried that, having just emerged from a long relationship, her skills will be rusty.

"Jess gets really insecure and she's afraid she's not going to know what to do," said Jake Johnson, who recently spoke about the show in a dual interview with co-star Lamorne Morris. The actors, who play Nick and Winston on the show, were back in Chicago (where I live) to visit family for the Thanksgiving holiday, and I spoke to them in a Michigan Avenue coffee shop about what the future holds for their characters and for Jess, who doesn't want to mess up her still-new relationship with Paul.

Naturally she goes to her male roommates for advice.

by AOL TV Staff, posted Nov 30th 2011 12:00PM
tv's 11 funniest ladies in comedyThis has been a banner year for women in TV. Two new female-fronted comedies, 'New Girl' and '2 Broke Girls,' broke out of the fall pack, and hilarious females continued to steal scenes on veteran shows like 'Community' and 'Cougar Town.' And who can forget Melissa McCarthy's triumphant victory at the Emmys?

To celebrate the Fabulous Female Laff Riot of 2011 (bear with us: that's only a working title), AOL TV is counting down the Top 11 women in TV comedy.

But first, a programming note: please try not to freak out when you don't see Tina Fey and Amy Poehler on the list. They belong to the Hall of Fame, and our list is devoted to those witty women who have come into their own during the last year.

Nick and Schmidt's Fight Gets Out of Hand on 'New Girl' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Nov 30th 2011 1:30AM
'New Girl' - 'Bells''New Girl' (Tue., 9PM ET on FOX) continues to find its voice, and live up to the potential of its pilot. Who knew that the loss of Damon Wayons Jr. would throw the entire show into a tailspin for a bit, but it's great to see them righting the ship.

Suddenly, Winston has some personality traits to build from and they fit with who he is and what he's done with his life. Plus, everybody loves a good feud. But for as much as we loved Schmidt and Nick fighting over money (essentially) we loved even more Jess' reactions to it.

What to Watch: TV Picks for November 28 - December 4

by Stephanie Earp, posted Nov 28th 2011 10:42AM

I Hate my Teenage Daughter - Friday December 2, 9PM ET/PT, Global and Wednesday November 30, 9:30 PM ET/PT, Fox

Well now, this is a strange time of year to debut a new show. The fact that Fox has moved the debut of this comedy around could be a sign they don't have a ton of faith in it, or it could mean nothing at all. With Jaime Pressly ('My Name is Earl') in a lead role, it's bound to have some attitude. She plays one of two moms who discover that their pampered kids have turned into bullying, spoiled mean girls. I think this premise has a ton of potential actually -- I just hope the script has more subtlety than the title.

Talking TV Podcast Takes on the 'Sons of Anarchy' and the Ladies of 'The Good Wife,' 'New Girl' and 'Suburgatory'

by Maureen Ryan, posted Nov 23rd 2011 12:30PM
Once again, Ryan McGee and I have recorded two podcasts for your listening pleasure.

In the first podcast, we talk about what we're digging about three lady-centric shows: 'The Good Wife,' 'New Girl' and 'Suburgatory.' As I said in a piece I posted earlier today, which re-examines several shows that debuted this fall, 'Suburgatory' has taken a big leap forward in quality and tonight's Thanksgiving episode is well worth a look.

We also did a separate podcast delving into Tuesday's shocking episode of 'Sons of Anarchy,' which I wrote about here.

Running times for the first podcast are below.

Justin Long Is the Male Jess on Thanksgiving Episode of 'New Girl' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Nov 16th 2011 2:00AM
Justin Long, 'New Girl' - 'Thanksgiving'It was a Thanksgiving celebration on 'New Girl' (Tue., 9PM ET on FOX), which means all the traditions like turkeys in the dryer and dead old ladies on the toilet. Wait, that doesn't seem right.

But it was funny, as the gang found themselves relocating to a neighbor's apartment when their dryer turkey experiment led to a fire in their apartment. Never mind that the lady of the house was dead, it gave us time to get to know Jess' bizarre male counterpart Paul, played by Justin Long.

So was it weird seeing someone just as goofy as Jess driving the guys crazy, or do we like the idea of her finding someone like herself she can enjoy? Of course, if they're too much alike, doesn't that mean he'll soon be driving her crazy? Future episodes perhaps ...

Zooey Deschanel, Not Just Another Pretty Face: Why 'New Girl' Works

by Stephanie Earp, posted Nov 15th 2011 5:15PM
Undeniably one of the big hits of the season, 'New Girl' is quite lovely. It makes me laugh, which I always appreciate, but it makes me laugh when I'm not expecting it, which is rare since so many of my favorite comedies are deep into multiple seasons.

But series star Zooey Deschanel has become a bit of a lightning rod for pop culture criticism and I'm always curious to know how others are interpreting what I see as 22 minutes of light entertainment. Sometimes seeing fiction through an insistently critical lens can ruin all the fun, but with 'New Girl,' the ideas being tossed around by writers at blogs like Jezebel make the show that much more interesting. Here's a quick guide to some of the themes the show is exploring, and how they're being discussed by critics.

What to Watch: TV Picks for November 14 - 20

by Stephanie Earp, posted Nov 14th 2011 9:35AM

Bones - Thursday November 17, 9PM ET/PT, Global/Fox

I do enjoy it when 'Bones' decides to have a little bit of fun with their murder scenes. This week, they find their victim shrink-wrapped with a Prince Charming doll. Turns out, the woman worked for a toy company headed by guest Morgan Fairchild, who always adds a dash of creepy camp when she turns up. Meanwhile Sweets prepares for his gun certification, despite the fact that Booth still objects to him carrying a weapon.

Jess Freaks Out When She's Told Nick Likes Her on 'New Girl' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Nov 9th 2011 2:15AM
'New Girl' - 'CeCe Crashes'Another solid installment of 'New Girl' (Tue., 9PM ET on FOX) as Jess' model friend CeCe wreaks havoc in the apartment. She's certainly a fun character with a lot more going on than a pretty face and a great body. Of course, that's all Winston and Schmidt saw about her right away and she had a blast tormenting them -- and especially Schmidt -- throughout the episode.

Nick, on the other hand, didn't even seem to notice her. Now it could be that he's still dealing with his own broken heart, but CeCe instead told Jess it was because Nick was totally into her.

Max Greenfield Doesn't Mind People Saying 'New Girl' Is a Hit Because of Zooey (VIDEO)

by Stephanie Opella, posted Nov 8th 2011 7:00PM
Max Greenfield plays Schmidt on Fox's new hit sitcom, 'New Girl,' but he's cool being known as Zooey Deschanel's TV roommate. When he stopped by 'Good Day LA' (weekdays, 9AM PT on Fox), all the 'Good Day LA' crew wanted to talk about was the adorkable Zooey, and Greenfield was totally fine with it.

Steve Edwards tried to get a rise out of Greenfield by saying, "When she was here, she said she was the only reason" the show's a hit. But Greenfield didn't bite. "Well look, I'm not going to argue with that," he said. Although he's also had recurring roles on Fox's other hit shows 'Ugly Betty' and 'Veronica Mars,' he's grateful for 'New Girl';s success. "Everyone involved knows how seldom that happens," he said.
