With the East Coast and Midwest recovering from snowstorms, the West Coast getting deluged by winter rains and the mountain states about to get hit with a chilling cold snap, there probably won't be much entertaining done outside the home this New Year's holiday. Luckily, television is stepping up in its usual way to provide all manner of visual entertainment.

From series marathons, to New Year's Eve specials to college bowl game upon college bowl game, the major networks and cable outlets are preparing for your immobility come Friday. On top of that, some networks have decided sneak in a few season and series premieres. Plus, Oprah launches her new OWN network on the first day of 2011.
