Did Cusack cuss?
by Danny Gallagher, posted Nov 13th 2009 5:50PM
Hey guys, remember when you were a kid and you really wanted to see a boobie but your parents had Cinemax blocked and your house did not yet have the ability to magically access the bottomless reservoir of nudity on the Internet? Your mind would do whatever it could to see a boobie. It would trick you into thinking two conveniently placed melons were boobies. It would make you think that the Calgon commercial accidentally showed a boobie. It would get you to watch every episode of Benny Hill with the hope of seeing a boobie.
That's how I feel of this recent news post at Newsbusters that claims 2012 star John Cusack uttered a rather nasty word on a recent episode of The Early Show. And no, it wasn't boobie.
Maybe it's just my hearing. Can you hear the word? It's supposed be towards the end of the video after host Harry Smith asks Cusack "Does it seems like 20 years ago already?" in reference to the 20 year anniversary of his classic film Say Anything.

Controversy flares over Sarah Silverman's holy union
by Julia Ward, posted Mar 9th 2007 9:34AM
I'm surprised it took this long for Fox News to decide that Sarah Silverman may have crossed a line. In case you missed Wednesday night's season finale of The Sarah Silverman Program, you may not be aware that A) God is black and B) Sarah had sex with him. Sample dialogue from their throes of passion: "Who made you, monkey? Who created you?" Following their one night stand, Sarah brushed God, played by director Tucker Smallwood, off. (You can watch the clip here.)The next day conservative website WorldNetDaily had picked up on the story and some negative comments posted at Comedy Central's website. This was, in turn, picked up by Fox News and Newsbusters, a site dedicated to eradicating the liberal bias in media. Yes, chances are, if you can't take the content of South Park or Family Guy, you probably won't be able to stomach Sarah Silverman's sense of humor. There's your barometer. Install a V-Chip, change the channel, cancel your cable subscription, but don't take away Sarah's right to hump and be humped by the deity of her choice.
The politics of 24
by Meredith O'Brien, posted Feb 8th 2007 8:02PM
It's the debate that just won't end.
Is 24 a show that promotes -- or at time caricatures -- certain political points of view? Is it pro-torture? Or is it just an extremely engrossing fictional jaunt through the Los Angeles metropolitan area with intrepid terrorist hunter Jack Bauer?
Several articles have cropped up recently, once again analyzing the politics of 24:
A staffer at Media Matters, a left-leaning watchdog group, wrote a piece saying that conservative politicians are pointing to 24's success as a "national referendum on torture." But he says they're wrong.
