Nicholas SparksNicholas Sparks has conquered the literary and movie worlds, and now he's coming for TV.

The 'Notebook' author has sold a drama called 'The Watchers' to ABC.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the show follows Raphael, an angel who falls in love with a mortal woman, Sarah, and decides to leave his job as a Watcher -- an angel who "invisibly provides support to humans in time of need."

by Donald Deane, posted Mar 29th 2010 2:00PM
According to Miley Cyrus, Nicholas Sparks sold her on the idea of starring in 'The Last Song' after using a low-key approach to relate the movie's coming-of-age story of a rebellious teen, she said on 'Good Morning America' (weekdays, 7AM ET on ABC). Sparks is the bestselling author of such books as 'Nights in Rodanthe' and 'The Notebook,' and wrote the screenplay for 'The Last Song.'

"He literally sat down at my dinner table, told me the story without looking at a computer ... just off the top of his head," Cyrus said. "I was like, 'This is something I would want to do.'"
