Nick Cannon On the 'Up All Night' Cast: 'Everybody Has New Kids on That Show' (VIDEO)

by Stephanie Opella, posted Nov 2nd 2011 6:00PM
Just as the main characters in his new show 'Up All Night' are trying to stay hip after having kids, Nick Cannon told 'Good Day LA' (weekdays, 9AM PT on Fox) that he's determined to do the same after having twins with Mariah Carey. As if to immediately disprove his point, he led the hosts in an impromptu, awkward drum session. "It's like 'Stomp the Yard' up in here!" he joked.

Jillian Barberie told Cannon that she saw his 'Up All Night' co-star Maya Rudolph out with her kids, and noted that although her character Ava struggles to relate to children, Rudolph seems to be living a life more like Christina Applegate's character Reagan.

"We all are," Cannon said. "Everybody has new kids on that show. It's crazy." Rudolph had her third child with director Paul Thomas Anderson in July, Will Arnett and Amy Poehler just had their second child last year and Christina Applegate and boyfriend Martyn LeNoble had her first child in January.

'America's Got Talent' Backstage Report: Landau Eugene Murphy Jr. Wins!

by Michael Maloney, posted Sep 15th 2011 7:00AM
Landau Eugene Murphy Jr.Cliché as it sounds, there were only winners on last night's 'America's Got Talent' Season 6 finale.

Landau Eugene Murphy Jr., as judge Howie Mandel accurately predicted on Tuesday's performance show, won the competition and the show's $1 million prize. "I am the great predictor," Mandel quips.

Dance group Silhouettes came in second. Dance group Team iLuminate was third. Rock band POPLYFE came in fourth, but you'd never know it by the jubilation they were feeling after the show. The band members were still ecstatic over getting to perform with the legendary Stevie Wonder, an experience they'll take with them forever.

"I'll take it with me as well," Wonder told AOL TV on the post show press line. "They are a group that is committed to staying together and not letting anyone break them apart. I feel that's how we should be as a nation. I'm excited that they allowed me to be a part of their group."

Nick Cannon Recalls the Wild Prank Sharon Osbourne Pulled on Piers Morgan (VIDEO)

by Nick Zaino, posted Sep 7th 2011 6:45PM
Nick Cannon on 'The Talk'Those who missed Sharon Osbourne's risque antics while 'The Talk' (weekdays, syndicated on CBS), was on hiatus were treated to quite the return when Nick Cannon stopped by the show Wednesday. Cannon and Osbourne are host and judge, respectively, on 'America's Got Talent,' and Cannon reported that Osbourne is just as wild behind-the-scenes of that show as she is on 'The Talk.'

Cannon recalled Osbourne's trademark excited voice and her propensity for practical jokes. "She is hilarious," he said. "I love when she just blurts out stuff with that high-pitched register. That's amazing. But, when we're just hanging out, like when we're traveling and stuff together, she is the jokester."

'America's Got Talent' Backstage Report: Should Piers Morgan's Buzzer Be Silenced?

by Michael Maloney, posted Aug 31st 2011 7:00AM
GymkanaTake it from someone who's sat in the audience at 'America's Got Talent' -- the judges' buzzers sound even louder in person. So when trigger-happy judge Piers Morgan hits that red "X" button performers can understandably become rattled.

Therefore, Morgan striking acrobatic act Gymkana may have caused the performers' concentration to fail, which could have have contributed to one of the team's members catching fire when he jumped through a ring of flames.

Host Nick Cannon informed viewers at home (after a commercial break) that the Gymkana acrobat was okay thanks to his flame-retardant outfit.

Morgan quipped that by striking the act he was trying to end it early, thus potentially saving lives. But fellow judges Howie Mandel and Sharon Osbourne, as well as Cannon, say they wouldn't mind Morgan's buzzer being disconnected.

'Up All Night' Casts 'America's Got Talent' Host Nick Cannon

by Maggie Furlong, posted Aug 15th 2011 9:10PM
Nick CannonNick Cannon's got talent. Before his stint hosting NBC's hit competition 'America's Got Talent,' and long before he became Mr. Mariah Carey, Cannon made his living as an actor.

Looks like he's getting back to his roots -- in a move that can only be filed under "corporate synergy," NBC has tapped their charming 'Talent' host to join the cast of their new fall sitcom, 'Up All Night.'

Starring Christina Applegate and Will Arnett as new parents struggling to find balance in their lives while raising a baby, the show might not be too far off from Cannon's real life. (His twins with wife Carey were born in April.)

The series also stars 'Saturday Night Live' alum Maya Rudolph as Ava, the host of a talk show that Applegate's character produces. TV Guide is reporting that Cannon will play Calvin, Ava's "energetic" co-host whose popularity makes her incredibly jealous.

'America's Got Talent' Backstage Report: Did Piers Morgan Buzz a Little Girl Because of Nick Cannon's Dare?

by Michael Maloney, posted Aug 11th 2011 7:00AM
Breena Bell The audience at home mostly has the final say on whether or not an act progresses to the next round on 'America's Got Talent,' but a strike ("X") from the judges is still pretty much the kiss of death for a competitor.

None of the six performers/acts from Tuesday night that received a dreaded red buzz from judges Piers Morgan (who gave five) and Howie Mandel (who gave one) are advancing to the semi-finals.

The lucky ones that did advance include dancer Beth Ann Robinson, bicyclist Matt Willheim, circus performers Gymkana and singer Kevin Colis.

Morgan pretty much sealed the fate of agile tumbler Breena Bell when he gave her a strike on Tuesday's show.

Why'd he do it?

Mariah Carey Freaked Out on 'TRL' 10 Years Ago Today

by Jean Bentley, posted Jul 19th 2011 9:00AM
Mariah Carey, TRLBetween Mariah Carey's high-profile marriage to Nick Cannon, her respected indie movie acting career and her still-successful singing career, it's hard to remember the days when Carey was the go-to crazy celebrity punchline.

But yet we all remember that fateful day 10 years ago (yes, an entire decade has passed), on July 19, 2001, when our lady Mariah pushed an ice cream cart onto the 'TRL' stage, took off her shirt and freaked Carson Daly out.

Today we take a moment to appreciate Mariah's pioneering of the ol' hospitalization for "exhaustion" excuse -- a life before bald Britney Spears became the face of public star meltdowns, when Lindsay Lohan was still the cute redhead from 'The Parent Trap.'

Watch the (extremely low-quality, sorry) incident below, thank the butterflies that she's okay now and tell us: where were you when Mariah had her on-camera meltdown?

Naked Cowgirl Loves Nick Cannon, Judges Don't Love Her on 'America's Got Talent' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Jun 29th 2011 1:59AM
Naked Cowgirl & Nick Cannon, 'America's Got Talent'You have to be careful typing 'Naked Cowgirl' into Google. You might find some things that could get you in trouble with your spouse or your boss (or both!). If you type it in with 'America's Got Talent' (Tue., 8PM ET on NBC), you'll probably only be mad at yourself.

Sandy Kane has largely swiped the gimmick of New York City's Naked Cowboy. Only while he's fit and in shape, Kane is a 57-year old woman. Actually, we have to admit that she's in great shape for her age, but it did nothing to make her act more palatable.

She performed an original song about Nick Cannon, calling him her boyfriend and talking about how much she loved him. Only she has a terrible singing voice, and the song was poorly written.

What TV Stars Watch on TV: Max Adler, Nick Cannon & Khloe Kardashian

by Jean Bentley, posted May 22nd 2011 8:00AM
Max Adler, Nick Cannon, Khloe KardashianJust because celebrities are on TV doesn't mean they don't love watching TV just as much as the rest of us.

With Max Adler's busy shooting schedule on 'Glee,' he told AOL TV recently that aside from his cable favorites ('The Walking Dead,' 'Game of Thrones,' 'Entourage,' 'Hung,' 'Californication,' 'Dexter'), he often goes for "cheesy mindless entertainment."

"I've gotten into the reality stuff -- I even watch 'The Bachelor' sometimes, or 'The Celebrity Apprentice' and things like that just to decompress," he admitted.

So, who's he rooting for on tonight's finale?

"I think I'm going to go with John Rich. He's just a strong player and a good, honest guy. I didn't really know much about him before the show, but now I've got a lot of respect for him so I hope he goes all the way."

It was an eerily accurate prediction, considering we spoke to Adler way back in April, when he also told us he was rooting for Marlee Matlin from the women's team.

Nick Cannon Calls Child Services Investigation 'Ridiculous'On 'Access Hollywood Live' (weekdays, syndicated), Nick Cannon explained a visit he and Mariah Carey received from a social worker to investigate a complaint that Carey was abusing alcohol and drugs while nursing.

According to Cannon, the trouble started when a nurse told Carey that drinking Guinness would spur milk production. Then, an anonymous person filed a complaint with the LA Department of Children and Family Services.

Nick Cannon Jokes About Mariah Carey and Their Twins in the Delivery Room (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted May 12th 2011 5:36AM
Nick Cannon, 'Lopez Tonight'If George Lopez was hoping to talk to Nick Cannon, the excited new father of twins on 'Lopez Tonight' (Weeknights, 12AM ET on TBS), he may have been disappointed. Instead, he got Nick Cannon the comedian, talking about his experiences in that delivery room with wife Mariah Carey.

Of course, we suspect that's exactly what they were looking for, and it was funny. But we still don't know what happened.

We suspect this part didn't: "I had a camera in one hand, I had the iPod in the other, the video camera, the doctor was holding the light for me," Cannon said. "I was like, 'Get that angle.'"

Nick Cannon Talks Marriage to Mariah, the Twins & His First Comedy Special

by Maggie Furlong, posted May 11th 2011 1:00PM
Nick Cannon & Mariah CareyNick Cannon is still getting used to being a tabloid headline all the time: First for his much-publicized marriage to singer Mariah Carey, 10 years his senior; then for expecting babies for what felt like an eternity; and now for the unusual names they chose for their twins, Monroe (the girl) and Moroccan (the boy).

But he has no problem joking about it all -- to me and anyone who'll tune in and watch his first comedy special, 'Mr. Showbiz' (premieres Saturday, May 14, 9PM on Showtime).

There's even a special sweet moment when he talks about how much he loves his wife ... and then jokes that he's set for life, before jumping into singing one of her many lucrative hit songs, 'Hero.'

Yeah, nothing is off limits. Other hot topics: his pal Kanye West, Eminem and where he uses conditioner. TMI? Maybe, but it's all in fun.

I caught up with Cannon to talk about life with Mariah, the controversy surrounding their new bundles of joy, the special and the next season of 'America's Got Talent.' Keep reading for more ...

Nick Cannon Expecting Twins, Will Tone Down Risky Behavior (VIDEO)

by Nick Zaino, posted Apr 28th 2011 6:10PM
Nick Cannon on 'The Talk'Nick Cannon is a tad preoccupied these days, what with his wife Mariah Carey about to give birth to twins. Today on 'The Talk' (weekdays, syndicated on CBS), he wondered why he was even there instead of at home tending to Carey, whom he said is "ready to just pop." Bags are packed, and he's ready to go. And ready for a big change in his life, including taking fewer risks.

He spoke of a shoot for 'America's Got Talent' for which he was riding in a hot air balloon, and found himself realizing what was at stake should something go wrong. "The only thing separating me and the ground was a wicker basket," he said. "I looked down. At that moment, I was like, I can't do this anymore. You know what I mean? A good gust of wind and my children might never meet their father."

So, would Carey be mad at him for such a stunt? It's all right, said Cannon, "She doesn't know." At least, she didn't until this morning. Seems like she might be free to take in some daytime television.

According to Deadline, the Oprah Winfrey–fronted network has ordered six new episodes each of 'Ask Oprah's All Stars,' 'Enough Already! With Peter Walsh' and 'In the Bedroom With Dr. Laura Berman.' Viewers can also look forward to eight new episodes of 'Oprah Presents: Master Class.'
