Royal Pins? Sharon Osbourne Fumbles Interview With Julie Benz (VIDEO)
by Nick Zaino, posted Aug 3rd 2011 5:35PM
Sharon Osbourne has had her share of flubs on 'The Talk' (weekdays, syndicated on CBS), and she continued her streak with guest Julie Benz. The 'Dexter' and 'No Ordinary Family' alum was on the show to talk about her latest TV role on 'Royal Pains.' Osbourne apparently misread her cue cards."Can you tell us about the character you play in 'Royal Pins?'" asked Osbourne. She was quickly corrected by her fellow panel members, and simply asked again, "What is the character?" Benz laughed it off. "For those of you who watch the show, I play the mom to Libby, and I'm a lesbian alpaca farmer," she said.
ABC Cancels 'Brothers & Sisters,' 'V,' 'Off the Map,' 'No Ordinary Family' & More, Renews 'Happy Endings,' 'Body of Proof'
by Jean Bentley, posted May 13th 2011 4:20PM
That thunderous pop you just head was the sound of ABC dropping pretty much every single one of its bubble shows at once. The network has reportedly canceled most of its lowest-rated series, including veterans 'Brothers & Sisters' and 'V' as well as newbies 'Off the Map,' 'No Ordinary Family,' 'Detroit 187,' 'Better With You' and 'Mr. Sunshine.'
Though it was speculated recently that 'Brothers & Sisters' could get an abridged season pickup, it turns out that star Rachel Griffiths' jokes about being unemployed are true after all. The fifth season -- now series -- finale aired last Sunday night.
Meanwhile, the second season (and now series) finale of 'V' aired back in March.
Wizard World Comic Con 2011: Julie Benz Sounds Off About 'Dexter,' Billy Dee Williams Jams and Scott Thompson Forays Into Comics
by Aaron Broverman, posted Mar 23rd 2011 1:00PM

Last weekend was Wizard World Comic Con's sophomore effort in Toronto, and there was a definite increase in attendance this time around (compared to last year). Though attendees were sparse on Friday evening, by Saturday the turnout was much more respectable, thanks to high profile guests like 'Dexter' and 'No Ordinary Family's Julie Benz, 'Kids in the Hall's Scott Thompson and Lando Calrissian himself -- Billy Dee Williams.
After all, where else could you hear Williams get his "William Shatner on" as he recited spoken-word poetry to a smooth jazz accompaniment in an exclusive live performance? Or hear Julie Benz reveal that 'Desperate Housewives' co-star Dana Delany was the best kisser she's worked with, topping David Boreanaz, Michael C. Hall and Michael Chiklis? Or maybe you would have liked to shout 'Penis!' in order to get an autographed photo of Scott Thompson. Or you could watch Chewbacca and Boba Fett argue over which ship is faster -- Slave I or The Millennium Falcon. (For the record, the Falcon won out.)
All that and more happened at Wizard World this year and luckily for you, we were there to report back all the geek-tastic highlights.
Eric Balfour Is an Animal Out to Destroy the Powells on 'No Ordinary Family' (VIDEO)
by Jason Hughes, posted Mar 23rd 2011 6:19AM
O Eric Balfour! How we miss you on 'Haven' even more when you turn in cheesy performances like this one on 'No Ordinary Family' (Tue., 8PM ET on ABC). Balfour was a beastly villain complete with bizarre claws, fangs and super-scary eyes.He also apparently has super-strength to match Jim Powell's, which is bad for Jim. At least for awhile.
We understand that 'Family' is trying to be a somewhat light-hearted take on the superhero genre, and we even applauded the idea when the season began. But we didn't mean for it to start looking like a Syfy Saturday original movie.
C'mon, you know that's exactly what this fight scene made you think of.

Alert all 'BSG' fans! Former Cylons Lucy Lawless and Tricia Helfer guest-star on 'No Ordinary Family' (Tue., 8PM ET on ABC). "No blast, no nothing," says Mrs. X. Sophie answers, "I don't know what happened. I had everything planned out perfectly." "I'll be calling on you again," says Mrs. X. No she won't...

To illustrate, he regales Ray with an impression of legendary actor Marlon Brando on 'The Rachael Ray Show' (weekdays, syndicated).Chiklis says he's perfected three different impressions of the actor, "young Brando, middle Brando" and "the last Brando," when he was "older" and "sort of effeminate."

Julie Benz, the matriarch of the super-powered Powells, shared a few spoilers about 'No Ordinary Family' when she appeared on 'Good Morning America' (weekdays, 7AM ET on ABC). But she didn't divulge every secret. In tomorrow's episode, Anthony Michael Hall "plays a man who's stronger and more invincible than Jim Powell (Michael Chiklis)," she said. And the following week, Tricia Helfer plays "a villain with the power of love."
But will viewers ever know exactly how the Powells' plane crashing in the Amazon led to their unique abilities? "You will find out how it happened and why -- [but] I can't tell you!" Benz said.

Matthew Perry is no dummy. After over three decades in this business -- 10 years of that on 'Friends,' one of the most popular shows in TV history -- 'Mr. Sunshine''s leading man is pulling out all the stops to make his new show a success (Wednesdays, 9:30PM ET on ABC).This week's big draw? Guest star Nick Jonas as Eli Cutler, a teen rock star playing at the Sunshine Center who is moody, demanding and hell-bent on making Perry's Ben Donovan miserable.
I caught up with Jonas, who is genuinely funny in this episode and shows off some serious acting chops, to talk about his inspiration for Eli and his own celebrity demands. He also dished about his favorite TV shows, wanting to be on 'Glee' and the most random people he follows on Twitter.
