Rowdy Plays Hardball With a Judge on 'The Deep End' (VIDEO)
by Jane Boursaw, posted Feb 19th 2010 2:20AM
Sometimes you have to play hardball with an old colleague to set things right in the world. That's just what Rowdy does on 'The Deep End' (Thu., 8PM ET on ABC) when he appeals to a judge who plans on keeping his client in prison. But he's innocent! Just like the kid who was innocent so many years ago, who ended up on death row even though someone else confessed to the crime later! Yeah, sometimes the justice system sucks.
Are you watching 'The Deep End'? Don't believe all the bad reviews, because it's quite entertaining.
Watch the video after the jump.
Review: The Deep End - Pilot (series premiere)

(S01E01) "Are we supposed to love this job or hate it?" - Dylan Hewitt
I like this show! Let's face it. Grey's Anatomy is dying, and The Deep End is Grey's Anatomy (the early years, that is), only with lawyers. It's got plenty of snappy dialogue, romantic sparks, inter-office power struggles, handsome people in nice clothes, office sex, Black-Eyed Peas tunes and cupcakes! What's not to love?
Broadway's Roger Bart lands ABC legal pilot
by Allison Waldman, posted May 28th 2008 12:02PM
TV watchers probably know Roger Bart best as George Williams, the murderous pharmacist on Desperate Housewives. On Broadway, he's been a musical dog (Snoopy in You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown -- for which he won the Tony award), a sidekick (Carmen Ghia in The Producers) and a scientist (Young Frankenstein). Now, he's slotted for a return to the tube. Roger Bart will star as a lawyer in the untitled David Hemingson dramedy pilot for ABC. The project casts Bart as Cliff, a high-strung attorney in a fancy-schmancy L.A. law firm, where one of the partners is his spouse. Hemingson's pilot is getting a lot of attention, in part because of his pedigree. He's written for How I Met Your Mother, American Dad and Kitchen Confidential. Adding Roger Bart to the mix ups the likelihood of ABC finding a place in the schedule mid-season for this comedy. They start filming next month.
Two network series to feature wheelchair-bound leads
by Julia Ward, posted Feb 6th 2007 12:09PM
For some reason, ideas in Hollywood come in pairs. Two asteroid movies. Two volcano movies. Two "backstage at SNL" shows. Here's another interesting two-fer I spotted when reading the latest casting reports. Both Fox and NBC have comedies in the works that will feature wheelchair-bound leads. Playing Chicken, Fox's pilot, will star Broadway baby Norbert Leo Butz as a "loudmouthed conservative" who is forced to move in with his lefty brother after an accident leaves him disabled. NBC's comedy I'm With Stupid focuses on two guys living in an assisted living facility. Christopher Thornton (pictured), who co-stars with Kevin Daniels in I'm With Stupid, was paralyzed from the waist down after a rock-climbing accident in 1992.TV Squad Hot Topics
