by Jean Bentley, posted Jul 14th 2011 12:40PM
The Tonight Show with Jay LenoWhile some of the head-scratching 2011 Emmy nomination snubs are infuriating (no 'Walking Dead'? At ALL?), some we're gleefully happy about.

No offense to Kyra Sedgwick, 'Nurse Jackie' or Lea Michele (plenty of offense to 'The Killing'), but we're kinda glad over here at AOL TV that they didn't waste precious nomination slots. Gotta spread those award accolades around. Share the wealth, people.

Below, a few of the Emmy snubs we can really get behind. Agree? Vehemently oppose? Share your thoughts in the comments.

Which Showtime Leading Lady Are You?

by Michael Wandling, posted Jun 27th 2011 3:00PM
Weeds, The Big CLet's be honest. Many of Showtime's programs can be boiled down to one common theme: they're all about quirky women with secrets.

We're not complaining -- we love a good mystery as much as we love a complex leading lady. There's cantankerous bully Jackie with her drug problem; Nancy with her ... um ... "dealings"; Cathy, who's still keeping her 'Big C' secret from a few loved ones; and many, many more.

To celebrate the return of 'Weeds' and 'The Big C' (tonight starting at 10PM on Showtime), AOL TV is here to help you determine your spirit Showtime woman. Are you a Cathy or a Nancy? Find out in our handy chart!

Affair Exposed on Season Finale of 'Nurse Jackie' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Jun 21st 2011 6:58AM
'Nurse Jackie'If you haven't seen the season finale of 'Nurse Jackie' (Mon., 10PM ET on Showtime), what are you doing reading this? You should probably click on something else or look quickly at that picture of Jackie over there. She looks pretty shocked, doesn't she?

!!SPOILER ALERT!!

What's shocking to her turned out to be shocking to us as well, when Kevin finally confronted her about what's been weighing on his mind all this time: The affair.

It was only one moment that Jackie's back was against the wall. The other was in the form of a urine test HR insisted all the nurses take that will unequivicably expose her drug problem. With that looming, she was ready for Kevin.

Jackie Finds a 'Fancy Methadone Clinic' on 'Nurse Jackie' (VIDEO)

by Mike Moody, posted Jun 14th 2011 12:55AM
nurse jackieIn an attempt to help wean Jackie (Edie Falco) off the hard stuff, Dr. O'Hara (Eve Best) might have just become her biggest enabler on the penultimate episode of 'Nurse Jackie' (Mon., 10PM ET on SHO) Season 3.

In a tense scene, O'Hara discovered that Jackie was, shall we say, raiding her daughter's stash. Jackie, of course, isn't a traditional nurse. Realizing that the traditional route to recovery -- rehab, meetings, detox -- wouldn't work for Jackie, O'Hara reacted to her addiction by choosing to write her a prescription.

'Nurse Jackie' Season 3, Episode 9 Recap

by Allison Waldman, posted May 24th 2011 2:00AM

So now that A.A. Bill is dead, how in the world is Jackie going to feed her habit? Never mind that he left behind 50 addicts that he was sponsoring (a disturbing thought since he intended to get them all to hit rock bottom), what was Jackie supposed to do without a hug a day?

The answer to that question was improvising and trying to get high in some other way. In fact, considering all the over-the-counter crap that Jackie was ingesting -- cough syrup, no-doze, ibuprofen, et. al -- it was a shock that she didn't wind up flat on her back from the counter affects of the medications.

A day without Valium? Jackie wasn't totally out; she had one snort to start the day, but as the hours passed, our Jackie was losing it.

Would she make it to Gracie's pageant to see her portray Christina the astonishing, a Belgian saint of insanity, or was getting a hug from Bill more important?

It's hard to know exactly what Bill wanted from Jackie by asking her to come to his place for a score.

Since Jackie has a history of bartering sex for drugs, her showing up at the building suggested that she was ready to give it up for a fix or two.

'Nurse Jackie' Season 3, Episode 7 Recap

nurse_jackie_showtime_2011['Nurse Jackie' - 'Orchids and Salami']

With our dear Nurse Jackie of late, it hasn't been a case of how high can she go. It's been more about how low will she sink? She's barely getting by on just six pills a day, and coughing up a hefty $200 for that daily dose.

Doing drugs was a lot easier when Kevin was in the dark, Eddie was screwing her in exchange for meds, and she was able to get O'Hara to write her scrips for a phantom bad back. Ever since that damn intervention, she's been pretending to be straight and it's mucking up her addiction.

In the latest 'Nurse Jackie,' Gracie was obsessed with the devil, like a little 'Church Lady,' while Akilitus was down in the dumps over her statuary being carted out of All Saints hospital. For Jackie, there was also just one thing on her mind ... and it wasn't Satan or the saints.

Jackie remained a step ahead of Kevin, covering her online search for oxy with a faked history that made him think she was working the program like a good little member of NA. Jackie is the kind of character who's always a couple of moves ahead of everyone else.

'Nurse Jackie' Season 3, Episode 5 Recap

nurse_jackie_edie_falco_showtime_2011['Nurse Jackie' - 'Rat Falls']

This was a Jackie-on-the-job episode, with only references to Kevin and the kids, and while a bit of a scattershot affair, it was still a lot of fun with the emphasis on the damn system and how to work it. As for the title, well, let's just say that unlike last week's 'Mitten,' which was almost poetic, this one was completely literal. There was a rat and it fell.

While Jackie continues to be the master of all things at All Saints, she's starting to feel the pinch when it comes to her addiction. While a gunshot victim was dying in ER, she was counting out her doses for the week ahead.

It was kind of strange to imply that the man might have made it if Jackie had been there, but that seemed to be the subtext. Her drug habit prevented her from doing her job ... but that was a lone case.

Has it really only been three episodes since Jackie's intervention -- the one that was supposed to set her straight, but only made her more defiant and determined to continue her life exactly as it's been? Drugs and all...?

Yes, just three episodes, and yet Jackie has miraculously turned a seemingly impossible situation around to her favor. She's repaired the damage to her marriage, making Kevin believe that she's not dependent on pain meds, and she's managed to get O'Hara to forgive her as well.

There's no question that Jackie is a world-class liar, as well as a talented Mrs. Fixit.

Kicking off the episode with 'Optimistic Voices' from 'The Wizard of Oz' should have been a tip-off that we would be going over the rainbow in tonight's installment. Jackie was a veritable Dorothy as strange things were happening around here, events that began with the sudden, unexpected appearance of Kevin's kid sister, Aunt Tunie.

Get used to the crazy kin folk, gang, because she's going to be crashing in Queens for a few weeks. How's that for a way to test Jackie's resolve to be the perfect little wife and mother.
