Oprah's 'SNL' All-Stars Show: Tracy Morgan Thanks Jane Curtin and Chevy Chase for Making His Father Laugh After Vietnam (VIDEO)
by Nick Zaino, posted Apr 12th 2011 9:15PM
Tracy Morgan is known as a good talk-show guest, mainly for his freewheeling comic style. Today on 'The Oprah Winfrey Show' (weekdays, syndicated), he provided an emotional moment on a 'Saturday Night Live All-Stars' show that also included Tina Fey, Dana Carvey, Jane Curtin and Chevy Chase.Winfrey prompted Morgan to share the story of his father, a Vietnam veteran and a fan of the original 'SNL.'
Morgan pointed at Curtain and Chase and thanked them. "I remember my father coming from Vietnam," Morgan said. "He had went through that and he wasn't laughing much. And then one night in 1975 he turned on 'Saturday Night Live' and ... I'd never heard my father laugh like that."
Curtin and Chase seemed touched by Morgan's gesture. It looked like something Morgan had perhaps wanted to say for a while.
